Roosters were missing:

Roger Tuivasa-Sheck
Michael Jennings
Daniel Tupou

(that is 3/4 of the three quarter line)

Boyd Cordner
Aiden Guerra

(that is 1/2 of the back row)

Anthony Minichiello for half the game.

That means they were missing one third of their regular roster in the second half.

The only Roosters players who were playing well were Sonny Bill Williams, Mitchell Aubuisson, Sam Moa, and Remi Casty.

Oh that's too bad. We've had a full strength team all season... Fmd

I forgot Napa. You are right. Napa was the fifth player who did well.

But with a third of the Rooster roster missing, and a rookie full back in the second half, and a massive reshuffle of the outside backs, how could the Roosters not lose? It was almost inevitable.
We should have won either way, the Sharks had no coach and their roster was as hindered as much as ours, granted they had time to prepare and whatnot but there was no way we should have lost that, no excuses.

Robbo has a big job ahead of him, he has to control the ego's in the side. Our next game should just be simple shit, we can't just come out firing against the next team we play, we have to build and peak at the right time.

That is what rugby league is all about, the greatest game of all, well done cronulla.

We needed it.

I wonder what will happen this week to dull the euphoria, like stupid Carney did after last week's awesome win?

I guess it's time for ASADA to strike ....

You're out of your mind if you think SBW was anything short of diabolical tonight.

Hats off to Robbo though, full respect for how he handled the press conference. Didn't take bait and take the easy way out from the journo's about the held up call at the end, even backed the refs and admitted he thought it was the correct call. Seems to put it down to not communicating well in defence and the obvious handling errors.
You guys have a good coach there, wanna trade for Flanno?

He's a champ that bloke. I love him in press conferences, he addresses the fans rather then the media.

One of his biggest strengths is ability to stick by players until they come good rather then just putting them straight into NSW Cup. Like SKD who wasn't having the best year last year but has been one of our best this year. I have a feeling this could become a hindrance though in cases such as Maloney who is badly out of form, though Robbo is the kind of coach who would help Maloney through whatever is making him play bad rather then just cut him. Though it's not at Anthony Griffin/Josh Hoffman level yet.

You guys can have Robbo if we can have your premierships. :sarcasm:

Just on that train of thought what do the Sharks do about coaching from here on out?

Can they go on a run with Fifita back soon?
Is it just a purple patch? What do you put it down to?

Titans were paying $11.00 last year against the Roosters last year and managed to get up so probably as good as the one tonight.

That the players want to play this style of football, not Flanno ball or Sharps attempt at following Flanno's guidelines.

Rather lose having a go, then go back to that boring as bat shit type of game plan

After this result Noyce might choose to let Shepard remain a figure head with Morris backing him up and letting the senior players run training like they have the past 2 weeks.
Theoretically a run is possible, with Gallen, Lewis and both Fifita's looking to come back soon. I think we can avoid the spoon with no more 'incumbent' selections and continue with some of these younger, eager guys. I could see us snaring 3 maybe 4 wins, with that I would be pretty happy given the year.
But it is the Sharks, we'll back this up with a horrible training session where half the squad is hit by lightning or something and then be lucky to scrape a win out at all.

This is whats great about this game. So much negative during the week, this round was gonna be mostly obvious favourites winning.

Now we've had the Bulldogs winning without their halves, and now Cronulla after a week of off field drama defeat the premiers. WOW.

Good on them though, never gave up and played with a lot of pride and passion.

Cant imagine what the next two games will be like. Makes this rounds look very interesting.

Also forgot the mention the Cowboys came pretty close with their Origin players.

right...so that's 2 successive 20+ comeback wins from a club that has almost no chance of making the finals.

hello match-fixing integrity unit.

I turned the radio off cause I dislike both clubs but especially the way the commentators were having a circle jerk over mitchell pearce and the rorters backline. What a fantastic turnaround from 24-0 down. Probably better than our 36-34 comeback against Manly in 04 due to the vast difference in talent that was on display tonight.

Hmmm,

From our starting team this year, Cronulla were missing the following players tonight who would have been picked if fit/available.

Ryan (not that he is coming back)
Morris
Gallen
Lewis
Carney (not that he is coming back)
Fifita
Heighington

So WHAT!! Cronulla is used to having half of their team out this year, 6 - that's nothing.
