'Splinters' is our most consistent player. (Apart from Daniel Mortimer, of course.) I say 'steady as she goes'. Don`t want to rush the kid. About twelve minutes this week, I`d say. And by the end of next year he should be up to playing a full game on the bench.

Shit stirring aside, I like Billy, saw him play in the 2009 Toyota Cup GF and he played very well. He's a really good player, just needs a few years to be physically ready for NRL.

So what has happened?

Where is he?

I am disappointed, he goes alright Rogers. Went good in Toyota cup and last year in reserve grade. He is only young, I think some people expect a player to make a name for himself after only a few games, yeah I know he didn't get much game time but I reckon Kearney was slowly introducing him to the NRL. How many people do you know became greate Lawyers, accountants, plumbers, electricians, builder's the first year after they finish their apprentice ship - not many.

Rogers could come back to bite as , funny how a few people were saying we should have kept Ryan Hinchcliff after his performance in the country game, but he has slowly been building his game over 5-6 years or so, it didn't happen overnight for him. If he made his debut for the eels, he would have got the same treatment as Rogers has on here!!!!!

Well said Joshua, I TOTALLY agree with you. I cannot understand why Billy Rogers was subject to ridicule for his efforts..Just seems to be fashionable to bag out one who is trying his guts out and playing to coaches instructions...
