Bird charged

That's crap. It was a great tackle, worthy of a pat on the back and congratulations. What about the Knights dumping Simmo on his head? Huh? Why wasn't that on report. Bird should fight both the charge and the grading. To give that a grade 2 charge is BS! The inconsistency of the judiciary system is really starting to piss me off. Stupid bloody Lyons.

Stupid bloody Lyons

Doesn't have anything to do with Lyons, GF.
He saw fit to let it go. It was a touchie running in 5 tackles later that saw the incident placed on report.

As for the grading, that's for the match review committee.

Do you think if the touchie hadn't picked it up, it will have later been found by the match review committee?

I think bird is a "sitting duck" .
It was good to see that it didn't "ruffle his feathers" too much and he didn't "fly" off the handle hey?
Im sure the crowd where "egging" him on too. :)

I don't believe players should be charged for one on one tackles like that, that go wrong. Sure get the blokes who pick up a helpless player between the legs, stuck in a two or 3 man tackle. They should be suspended big time. But I don't believe this one on one incident deserves a suspension. Neither did Matt Bowen's tackle last year, where he charged at the bloke, got him round the legs and some how flipped him over.

Furthermore, Bird didn't drill this guys head into the ground. Surely we can get this massively downgraded.

Disgusting by the judiciary. I thought it was just a great, hard tackle. If he gets suspended he has every right to feel that his career may be permanently tarnished ala Hopoate where he can never get a fair go again.

I hope he gets off, I dont think he deserves to get suspended for it. Altho if I heard correctly on sports tonight they are only going to try and down grade the charge and I would imagine that would mean he still cops a suspension.

What a crock of s**t that charge. Great 1 on 1 tackle. Hit him low & hard. Drove him backwards & he lands on his back, not his head or neck.
The big tacklers of yesteryear would be disgraced by this tackle being against the laws of the game.
Very unlucky Birdy. You served the time for the kneeing incident & deservedly so but this is ridiculous. It makes you wonder if it wasnt such a big deal at the time (play going back 5 tackcles & 60m), nothing else would have been said about it.
Fight the charge mate. Come on NRL, get fair dinkum - 3 or 4 weeks for that. What a joke!
