Reading the Club statement on Bird I reckon if Townsend doesn't seriously reduce his asking price he'll be out the door.

Can't see the Club making Chad the highest earner at the Club.

I'd suggest the media release was aimed at Chad as much as Bird.

Sad to see Bird go but I can't begrudge him, he's got a limited lifespan in the game, probably more limited than most.
