Bird Contract

Interesting little snippet today posted by the NRL lurker on twitter:

Jack Bird's decision to quit the premiers isn't exactly being seen as a disaster in the Shire.

There are more than a few members of the Cronulla administration who wonder if the Brisbane Broncos know exactly what they're getting themselves into.

Especially when it comes to team culture, which seemingly, Bird has a lot to learn about.

At a recent function to celebrate Chris Heighington's 300th NRL match, the Sharks organised a special tribute dinner for the players only, where club legend Andrew Ettingshausen presented the veteran forward with his milestone jumper.

Every player was present for the special occassion, except Bird.

Needless to stay, several of his teammates were unimpressed.
Might explain Gal's comment about him: "Who cares..." I'll second that.

One thing I didn't like last year was the way Bird went off at Maloney in that Souffs game last year when Maloney's goal line drop out went short.

I thought he was way out of line to go off at a senior player like that.

Especially one of Maloney's Class.

See what happens to him next year if he puts that shit on a Queensland player in the Broncs team. He'll be isolated big time in that team.

Yep. Better watch out if he's the third man in & does a dog act tackle at the legs or kidneys of a held up player.

A certain tubby shit kaarnt will blow up deluxe.

People saying Jack will put in every week makes me laugh. He had a go once this year, last weekend, the weekend before he made he signed a new contract.

He's clever.
I'm sure Flanno will monitor him more closely now, no excuse to keep him in first grade if he is underperforming and blocking someone else from developing in that position.

So basically Wayne has double dicked Newcastle

Here I was thinking the cap was to even out playing talent.

FFS, While Bird is still young for a footballer he is still a f*cking grown man, does he need daddy defending him in the paper? How about man-ing up and defending your f*cking self

His old man pissed all over his current club in many ways. His suggestion that Wayne Bennett can make him a better player is a slap in the face to us. I hope it all goes f**king horribly next year for those merkins.

What happens if Wayne decides he will play Centre?
What happens if Wayne gets fired in the next four years?

And Mick, a bloke by the name of Kade Snowden made exactly the same decision for exactly the same reasons and was never the same player again.

I am absolutely prepared to say that we have seen the very best forkball from Jack Bird.

If Uncle Wayne puts him in the centres it'll be interesting if he's bored there or if during the downtime in the game when he doesn't have the ball in hand he just thinks about how to spend his million bucks a year lol

"It was very hard for Jack to make that decision. But he made the decision on what he feels is his best for his future and development. I'd imagine it will be good for Jack. He's a footballer. Jack hasn't got a position. Just let him play football and let him play what's in front of him. He doesn't get that opportunity out in the centres."

Well it shouldn't matter what number is on his back

Can someone remind me what position et played , must have been 6 because he certainly saw a lot of ball.

This from Bird's old man...
"If it was about money for Jack, he would've signed with Newcastle," Mick Bird said. "Their deal was a lot better than Brisbane's if it's about money.
"To go and get the opportunity to play under Wayne Bennett – that's a privilege ."

Mate - Take the tip - keep it shut.

Learn from Lichaa's old man.

The third party deals from The Thoroughbreds would make our heads swim if we knew what Jack had been promised. It would put the Knights offer way into the shade.

It was for money. Simples.

And to keep rolling out the line about playing under Bennett.
A guy who's reputation is in tatters and to be judged on his last 6 years would see him lucky to be coaching at Moore park.

And the slur to Flanno?. the coach of last season's premiers. The ONLY guy to get the Sharks up in 50 years.
Who developed your son to a premiership winner and SOO honours.

Staggering comments.
