So we're writing off 2018 too?

I would, but I don't care what PR spin he wants to put on it, you can't win three spoons in a row and keep your job.

So you've already engraved the 2017 and 2018 spoons to our name?

Get a grip bro.

So get another coach in with a heap of cap space to spend on.....????????

Not sure if Brown is the problem here gents.

Is he?

Brown is certainly not the problem. Would like to hear Slot's thoughts on who should be the new coach after Brown, like, who would want to coach us?

I think the complaint the majority seem to have is not that he didn't sign with us, it's that he signed with the seemingly unlimited cap/3rd party deals Broncos. Also somewhere where he will be lucky to get the on field position he said he really wanted.

Mate we get to watch a 6. Jack Bird, 7. Anthony Milford halves combination for the Donkeys. It's gonna be fun.

If you spend 2 mill on halves you'd want to come up with something better then that. Seriously. Wayne might not have lost his aura, but maybe he has lost his mind.

We are not going to get superstars for next year .gonna have to take the long road i think!i think reynolds the famous grub might be worth looking at.he not the best buy i could think of but he certainly does have a go .asking price is 800,000 a year but i bet we could get him a smidge cheaper then that.we just are not gonna get any other halves.

I'm not writing off 2018 yet. We need 2 good props to be competitive I feel. Same as Spot On above.

I must have been watching a different first 6 rounds. We are very competitive. 4 of our 5 losses could have easily been wins. All this with undoubtedly the worst front row rotation in the comp. But that's Brown's fault according to Slots. He needs to get out there and help em himself I guess. Agree that two good props should be the priority of our recruitment.

He's not the problem he inherited this mess. But he doesn't deserve praise either. We were a total basketcase when he took over, we are still a basketcase and will remain a basketcase for the forseeable future.
We're royally f**ked at the moment and there's seemingly no way out of it. The NRL probably should relocate us we're dying a slow and painful death in our current situation.
Bullshit. If you can't see the difference between where we were when he took over and where we are now, you're beyond hope.

I really hope you're right about the Donkeys falling flat on their face, but they will probably end up putting Bird at lock and signing Cronk somehow.

Buhrer broke his foot at training today and is out for 2 months. 2017 pretty safe.

Why? It absolutely sucks, I know. But if any position is well covered in our squad then it's second row. Wardle will step in, Kostjasyn due back soon.

Also, on Bird. Funny how you guys have assumed Brown/Mooney have no plan B to missing Bird. Likelihood is they didn't throw all there eggs in that basket and there are plan B's in mind.

Sorry to interrupt the wrist slitting nature of this thread.

Brown isn't the problem, he wasn't here in 2015 so the fact that we're currently sitting on 2 straight wooden spoons isn't his doing. Whilst he oversaw a 1.5 - 22.5 record last year he did what he was asked to do which was to put a broom through the place and get rid of anyone who was phoning it in, and to be honest I'm surprised he managed it as quickly as he did. If you look at our roster now it's almost unidentifiable compared to what we finished 2015 with. Even if he had kept some of those experienced guys on board for a bit longer I still think we only would only have won 5-6 games maximum last year which still wouldn't be enough to keep us away from the spoon.

It's looking like it's between us, Tigers & Titans to get the spoon this year (3 NRL owned clubs funnily enough - but that's a another can of worms) and I can cope with getting our third on the trot but I need to see at least 5-6 wins and at least a strong finish to the season coupled with some promising signings.

I've given up on us securing a "superstar" because it just doesn't look like it's going to happen while we're nailed to the bottom of the ladder but if we can buy enough Buhrer/Kostjasyn type players to at least lift us off the bottom of the ladder then I think we can expect elite players to take notice. Unfortunately I feel this may not happen for another couple of years at this rate and Brown's head might be on the chopping block by then. I really hope that doesn't happen though because so far he's been very unlucky with the cards that he's been dealt.

Don't bother, I've heard the NRL are planning our move to Perth as we speak

I've already disowned bird from our club. Fk him and the grubby broncos.

I reckon Bird played you guys just to up the Broncos, would you agree?

Well we won 8 games the year before he came and we probably won't win 8 games for his first 2 seasons in charge combined. So it's hardly a startling improvement,

Er, which is why I said I'm not writing 2018 off yet!

But to be fair we had alot of experience there that moved on before brown got there.Houston, gidley, scott, jeremy smith and the list goes on.he inherited a bunch of kids that were unfit and not ready for nrl.cant blame brown, its all on benett!and that is gonna take alot of time to sort this shit fight out.

Ah, I get it.

I haven't even written off 2017 yet. The Titans have had a horrendous injury run which tends to help teams take out the spoon.
