The players player for the Knights was named last night as Ben Kennedy.

This was no surprize in Newcastle, Ben has won just about every best player award going for the team this year. He was streets ahead in the radio station awards.

I think it shows that people in Newcastle take Johns for granted a fair bit. For Johns to get the points he has to play better than everyone else on the field. Kennedy just has to look good for a while.

In all the nationally judged awards Johns finished a mile in front of Kennedy. In all the Newcastle judged awards, Kennedy finished a mile ahead of Johns.

The thinking in Newcastle seems to be 'Joey is the best, thats a given, now who is second best.' Joey doesn't get points for walking on water anymore, he has to do a few tricks as well.

Very good point Roopy.
Andrew Johns has been voted the best player in the world, the most favourite player in australia etc etc.
Yet in Newcastle, Ben Kennedy has grabbed the awards.
One point that is against Johns, is the fact that he missed about 8-9 weeks through injury and suspension, whereas BK played ALL 26 games throughout the season, plus one s.o.o.
But when you think about, ask yourself, who would newcastle miss most on this season's performance. You immediatly think joey, but Bk's performance cant be forgotten. It's a tough call, but dont worry, Joey will be playing his consistent awesome game next season, and will get all the awards.
