I dunno if you've watched us earlier in the season but his defense was even worse than what it is now, he's come leaps and bounds since then

He's probably our 2nd most influential player behind teddy now.

I think he had a bad game in defence but he showed that he isnt a complete waster. Put his body on the line a few times. If he had support from inside it might have been a different story.

Defending the edges is about teamwork and trust. Nobody had any trust in each other to shut papalii down on those plays. They were all playing a different game to each other.

Walt pointed out that the tigers were obsessed with shutting down the centres so they kept rushing up on croker and joey opening up space for papalii and whitehead. There was no structure and moses by virtue of being the smallest bloke was the weak link.

Moses will be a star in the long run. He does put his body on the line which is a good sign.

Lockyer was a tragic defender at 5/8 and yet still a world class player. Even Thurston is a pretty weak 1-on-1 defender. The key is that JT has bucketloads of guts and courage so with good coaching and teamwork there's no reason why Moses won't hold his own in the long run as well.

The worry is Brooks. Soft as butter and doesn't look any better now than he did two years ago.

If you guys had done well without pearce during his suspension i really thought the tigers should have gone all out for him to partner moses. They need a bloke like that in there imo.

We made an attempt to sign Moses before he re-signed.

That would have been an awesome halves combo under Robbo.

I'm not fussed we didn't sign him though because the Tigers fans shouldn't have to endure losing Moses or Teddy. That'd be too cruel.

Most halves would struggle having to defend between Naqaima and a rookie second rower. There isn't a half in the game who gets isolated in defense as much as Moses.
