I'm a little disappointed. Mateo's a great talent, but the real enjoyment comes with the horde of frothing westies that would have howled at the moon for months on end because we stole another of the kids that they abducted from New Zealand at age five during a slave raid...

Good to see that we got under Fitzy's skin though. That mention of the 'one particular club' chasing Mateo warmed my heart.

Do manly have any decent juniors or up and commers of their own or are they going to continue to "try" to keep buying players from elsewhere, Creagh, Gallen and now Mateo none from three boys, I should call 2ky next Sunday morning and give that fat wind bag Peters a serve.

Actually the fat win bag will just hang up on you, he's got no spine...do what i did and give him a gobful in front of his face, he's got no where to hide.

tbh guys, I don't understand why you even wanted Mateo...when you've already got 3 very talented backrowers.

Future proofing for when Beaver hangs up the boots. G. Stewart, Watmough and Mateo would have looked good in 2008/9.

Good on him for staying at Parra though, Parra has put a lot of effort into him.

All depends on Dessie's infatuation with Lyon at 5/8...

Des is sooo lucky we are nine and one. I've still got my knives out though...

so you guys can also see that apart from being a bloody good side you have the potential to be a great one if Dessie stratigically tinkers with the side...

ffs! Des makes me laugh...your side in effect should be as it follows.

3 Bell
4 Judas
6 Burns
9 Monas
14 The ballan kid...

agree??

I want Matai in there somewhere, he has pure aggression, uncontrollable at times but thats the gamble. Monas is an 80 minute man, as is Ballin. Interesting times ahead...

it's certainly an embarresment of riches..it kinda reminds me of Melbourne last year where they couldn't fit Jake Webster in the line up. :?

who's off contract at your mob??

im pretty sure that that is the salary cap in action, evening up the comp buddy. manly had a bad team for about 4 or 5 years before 2005 and since then they have been adding quality players to thier roster as they have come off contract. its the way the game works so you shouldnt be complaining about it, otherwsie we'll be back in the situation with one team (the one with thew best juniors) winning every year, a la st george ages ago. i might point out that alot of the players manly have bought so far wasnt exactly theiving, as you would have us imagine, kite was unhappy at st george cause he couldnt get a start, kennedy wanted a nice retirement fund and a challenge to end his career, micheal robertson wasnt wanted at canberra, lyon simply made a choice bewteen a host of clubs who were after him and too bad to parra if he didnt choose them, bell made his own choice to move into syndey for better shot at rep football and to let the up and comers at melbourne through (greg inglis ect.) but ill give you orford. either way, get over it.

St George didn't have the best Juniors, they had the biggest wallet.

Chook Raper's oft stated reason for going to St George (Though he was always a Bluebag at heart) was 'They paid me more money!.' The removal of the Salary cap would see a return to the days were a couple of clubs dominated and the rest spent decades near skint and in the cellar.

they can have green and well take Kite and Watmough, sounds like a fair trade to me!

No. I never want to see Kite in a blue and gold jersey...wouldn't mind Watmough though
