I just heard him on the radio, says he hopes to be or make a difference for the side, that it has loads of potential but is just missing something to make it click.
Not knowing a lot about him I hope hes one of those players that revs up the slackers in a side and gives them a spray on the field.

He should take some of the heat off Johnson and may free him up a bit, potentially a very good halves combo if they can get it to click

Was a very good clubman too for us, especially with his little fella that absolutely loves his footy and was in there singing the team song after a win. Very disappointing to hear of how his time at Manly ended, but I'll put that down to his manager being a complete drop kick rather than Green himself

Seems that the timing of the Pearce/Green releases was coincidental, Green staying at Manly had become untenable. Barrett last night said that they have made Pearce an offer of what he is worth, but the Newcastle deal blows it out of the water, but he isn't willing to sacrifice young fellas coming through to secure Pearce, but is fairly confident he wants to be at Manly

Na,much more of a calm cool wise head, will steer the team around well.

Parts of this thread reads much like the echo chamber surrounding another signing 2 years ago.

How did Jeff Robson work out again?

Green is a better player than Robson, and I hope he outperforms my expectations, but he's not the second coming. At best, he's an overpriced complementary player the wrong side of 30 on a 3 year contract. We're still one/two short on quality middles - and have Kearney for a head coach, and now have well over $1m/year tied up for 3 years in Blake Green and Adam Blair. Genius....

I can only hope for Ata's sake he lands somewhere he will get a bit of trust and game time.

I wouldn't say so mate, he won't get Warriors money elsewhere and the way he left Manly wasn't flash

That's why the "we won't release him til we have someone else" line got withdrawn and they let him go

Dunno if you're hearing the same stuff as I am, but rumour has it Isaac Moses had something of a (huge) hand in this - in something of a similar fashion to the rumours flying around Mitchell Moses earlier in the year. Not someone I'd like the club to get into bed with - we saw how that worked out for the Tigers. Too late though, we're into his stable in a big way!

Probably very similar, basically along the lines of Moses telling Green not to go to training etc and playing hardball with the club over it. TBH I still think Green is a good bloke, just following poor advice from his manager, not turning up once for pre season training with a club you're contracted too is totally unprofessional. But Moses knows that the money and length of deal the Warriors tabled was like winning Lotto so initiated a lot of stuff to make sure it came through

Yep you're right there, Moses has his hooks in deep with Kearney, Blair, Green, Beale etc all at the Warriors on overs

I'd be stoked if Manly went after Hingano but not sure it would happen

Robson worked at least as well as Foran?

But yeah we have close to the worst coach in NRL history and paying big dollars for journeymen and shafting/neglecting some decent home grown talent

Those are the reasons I'm keen on Smith. Unfortunately another diabolical coaching appointment leaves us in a bind

Moses should be de-registered for dirty, un professional tactics/advice during the Tigers scandal this year. Managers need to be put in their place, or they will all wreck havoc in the NRL. How did Kodar Nassir loss his registration?
