I'm no Rugby expert so my comments may be completely ignorant, I generally only watch tri-nations games every year.

But it certainly seems like the All Blacks do such a better job at the breakdown and getting nice early ball to their backline. The Wallabies seem to be so slow getting to the breakdown and even when they get there quickly their service is so slow.

Having said all that, I didn't think the Wallabies backline moves were at all threatening, the All Blacks were punching holes through the defensive line (SBW) and playing second phase via offloads and quick breakdowns. In contrast, the Wallabies were playing way before the line on backline moves and were easily dominated.

Yep you said it AB - Wallabies attack was telegraphed because of slow ball, which is because our forwards were completely dominated. I'm not going to blame the ref or Sir Richie McCaw because in the end it doesn't changed the fact that they owned us and knew what we were going to do before we did. Their defensive structure is almost impeneterable especially when they have that mongrel attitude. We, on the other hand looked like we had resigned ourselves to the fact that we won't break their line so will kick it down field and hope for a mistake. Absolute shite! I just want to put that (and Deans) behind us because surely thigns can only improve from here...

without Pocock you were never going to get quick ball that the Wallabies could attack with.. though Deans knew this so why keep kicking the ball back to the ABs?

He's f**king clueless.

Anyway, the Wallabies have one of the most devastating wingers in world rugby in Ioane on the wing and can barely get the ball to him.

I genuinely fear for our remaining games against SA and Argentina. There is a distinct possibility we can lose all of them. Argentina play the type of game Australia has no answers to and SA will come good.

Well i think he's just what we need now that Mitchell is injured. Maybe Shipperley? Anyways you're right - what good is Ioane when we don't give him any ball - even when he comes looking for it?? oh sorry Digby - i'm going to kick it away instead of pass it to you. Here you go - fetch! Funnily enough i'm quietly confident when it comes to the Boks. They're backline isn't as creative and you know what you're going to get - alot of up and unders. Without the Bismark they don't seem as intimidating. I reckon the Pumas will be licking their lips...

Why? Is my assertion that the All Blacks are stuck in 3rd gear for the great majority of their time on a field wrong? Which games did I miss where they were in top gear?

its a pretty simple concept to grasp.. we created 6 or 7 genuine scoring opportunities and only scored one try.

considering we have a reputation built up over 100 years for being the most ruthless side in world rugby... its pretty easy to understand we feel we haven't hit top gear.

Ioane is overated...just runs straight and has no step.
