Victory Chant into Blue Diamond favourtism after strong support

Tab Sportsbet punters have rallied behind South Australian two-year-old Victory Chant following the barrier draw for Saturday's Blue Diamond Stakes (1200m) at Caulfield.
After originally being posted on the fourth line of betting at $8, the Leon Macdonald-trained colt is now the favourite at $6 following sustained support this afternoon.
Within minutes of the market opening a wager of $4000 was recorded at $8, followed by another of $1000 at $8 before numerous smaller bets were then trumped by an investment of $10,000 at $8 forcing the price into $6.50 behind the David Hayes prepared Cecconi.
Further wagers of $1000 win and place at $6.50, $1000 at $6.50 and then $1000 at $6 were not enough to stop the move which now sees the youngster as sole favourite for the $1 million race.
Victory Chant was originally posted as the $2.75 favourite when first markets were released in January on the strength of a 7 length win at Cheltenham Park in December but lost favour after average trackwork reports and drifted to as much as $13 following a first up third placing behind Shrewd Rhythm in the Blue Diamond Prelude at Caulfield on Febuary 10.
Some of the bets placed at this $13 quote include $800 win and place, $700 and $500 straight out with $1000 at $9, $500 win and place and $500 straight both at $8 among those placed before today's draw.

i'm settling with CECCONI here. was a good debut before spelled and producing a great run in the BD preview. the extra 200m suits perfectly, and the blinkers is always great on a 2yr old in a major race. Hayes/Williams combo is a big plus too. i'll be on him.

chances to VICTORY CHANT (if given an easier lead), SLEEK CHASSIS (runs have been sensational, but steps up sharply here) and FAMILIAL (trialled super with blinkers, and her 2 runs have ben good)
