Sure I don't live in the area but I relate.
I've done audits on similar businesses when I was working in the Big 4 as an auditor, but also in my current role facilitating the finance department in conjunction with strategies and implementation of new products in FMCG industry.
Sure I'm only 26 but I'd have more brains than most of the relics on that board imo. (Not to talk up myself). But there is no way at all I'd get in.
What have you got to lose? Run a campaign over at PI. Put forward some of your ideas argue your case and start building some traction. You'd be talking directly to the people who will be voting for this, you have a platform for promotion that none of the current board have. You might attract some younger members on the forum to come out of the woodwork and make their voice heard which is really the only way generational change is going to happen here. Worst comes to worst you spend some time writing some things on the Internet, and have a disappointing night at the meeting itself, both things I'd wager you were planning on doing anyway
