He played outstanding against Manly. No doubt the best player on the feild. I think he deserves a wrap especially for his kicking game. He produced a forty twenty and had a couple of fantastic kicks.
I think he should be kept at the club and should be #1 kicker next season.
Great work Bobby.

Blair should be playing at lock or in the centres, but unfortunately the club decided to retain Nathan Smith and Luke Lewis to play in those positions at a combined salary of about $500k, so therefore we will have to release about half a dozen of our talented youngsters to keep them.

Well done Panthers!

Keep up the good work.

When origin was on The Courior Mail said that Blair was a future Queensland Representitive. big wraps from a paper who thinks there are only 2 teams in the comp. The Broncos and who ever they are playing

Blair has all the skills. He is big and fast. Hits hard in defence and has a great fend.

He just needs to work abit on his offloads and positional play and he will be top class.

All it needs is for a coach to address these errors. Under Elliott it won't happen.

A coach that addressed the simple things would do that, but Elliott over complicates the game and forgets about the basics. That's why the players don't like him.

Adamson is just arrogant.

He needs to stop rushing out of the line.

About 14 tries have been scored this season as a result of him rushing out of the line and leaving his man outside exposed.

What does that result in...a lack of trust...i.e. why Jennings made crucial errors against Manly...he had Blair inside him and felt the need to move up as Blair has that tendancy in tight situations.

These are issues that the coach should be addressing. It's not rocket science.

Agree totally...however sometimes...it is the situation of "You can't teach a brick to think"....

Realistically defensive strategies should have been imbedded into a player by the time they reach Under 18's...if you can't tackle by the time you reach under 20's...9 times out of 10 no matter how much work you put into a player...it wont matter.

And again.... shows Elliott is accountable. He selected him week in and week out to play...

I'm not saying he is not accountable by any means.

I'm merely saying that Blair is blown out to be a great player when I see many many things in his game that need work...and plenty of it.

Does he have aggression...yes
Does he have an offload...yes
Can he hit hard...yes

But his kicking game is extremely inconsistent...i.e. one week great, one week terrible.
His defensive awareness is pathetic...rushing out of the line, or staying back when others move up.
He is a lazy defender and rarely chases.
He offloads at the incorrect times, and i'd say approximately 50% of all offloads from Blair hit the ground before reaching the man.
He has poor passing awareness and a poor bullet pass.

These are just off the top of my head.

Nathan Smith...while tenacious for example...has nothing going for him aside his appeal with the ladies and a work ethic.

If you watch Nathan Smith closely...his stats may say 39 tackles...but from watching the game again you'll see the following:

39 tackles:
13 are third man in, 12 when the ball player was wrapped up, the last he didn't wrap up the ball and let the offload go.
18 are second man in, 13 when the ball player was already wrapped up.
the remaining 8 tackles, he was first man in with contact...7 times out of the 8, he was driven backwards until someone else came and helped him.
He also missed 6 elementary tackles, 4 trying to go high on the ball runner, 2 trying to go low. 2 of these missed tackles led to tries, 1 led to a massive line break.

This is why I don't rate Nathan Smith. Everyone says he gets through a ton of work...but he is the biggest flop artist in the game. He lacks impact and lacks talent at this level. That pass he threw to David Williams...was just embarassing. And it isn't the first time he's done it either.

Mick I am just pointing out reasons why Elliott is accountable. I'm not debating you. ;-)

i think he should be in a position where he can kick the ball on the last.
Lock is okay but i think centre will be all tied up next year with the likes of Waddell coming through.
