I know everyone's talking about the fine and the suspension but to me the issue is the charges. The judge can only lay down punishment for the crimes he was charged with. Why the f**k didn't the cops hit him with a slew of driving offences, Operation of a vehicle causing grievous bodily harm, Dangerous operation while affected by an intoxicating substance etc. etc. its on camera for f**ks sake and it look terrible. Politicians complaining about the punsihment need to ask the police some questions.

So is this it, then or does the NRL mete out its own punishment? Using Mitch Pearce and Spencer Leniu as I guide, he’d get banned for the season and a 500k fine, yeh-nah.

Yeah based on the charges I'm expecting 4-6 weeks in line with Ado Carr. IMO it should be minimum half the season but 12 months would totally be appropriate.

Imagine if this had happened in Sydney to a high profile Sydney based player. haha

I got a $870 fine for being unregistered in Melbourne 10 years ago.

Ezra Mam gets less than that for being off his tree and hitting a car with a young kid in it.

More evidence of what Madge is facing in Brisbane. These guys are untouchable and think they're not only bigger than the game, but bigger than Jesus.

Different jurisdictions.

There have long been suggestions that QLD police are... On good terms with the broncos.

NSW police has their issues but I've never really heard of them being chummy with footballers.

Either way, QLD police definitely should be explaining why more severe charges weren't brought to the table. Maybe the injuries weren't as severe as reported but unless they were non existent I don't see any justification to not bring reckless GBH. His actions were reckless, that cannot be argued and fairly minor injuries can be defined as GBH.

Also and not sure if this has been posted yet but he has had his license suspended 3 times in 2 years. He is a serial menace on the road.

I think many of us have or know of someone who has been punished accordingly or possibly harsher for a lot less than what’s occurred here.

I personally think the outcome and punishment for what EM did is not acceptable but it’s worked out well for him.

It’s now up to the NRL to determine whether the legal punishment is enough or impose a further punishment. If they brush this under the rug, none of us will be surprised but it will set a dangerous precedent and contradicts much of what they’ve said will not be tolerated.

We will see what happens but it isn’t the first time the courts have been armed with firm pillows

Ok his an immature dickhead tool
On multiple drugs. Unlicensed. Having head on collisions. Putting the public at Risk
But what is the reason for the Ute Ezra was driving to cross over to the wrong side of the road ?
Was it being stupid. The cocktail of drugs
He fell asleep. Or distracted. Phone use?

Inglis must be fuming now. He’d be thinking if Mam can do all that and what he did shouldn’t have even warranted turning up to court.
