Did anyone go?

I went to both Sydney shows and last nights one was marginally better. Great enthusiastic crowd, excellent setlist and a truly masterful performance by one of the worlds best rock bands.

My only disappointment was they didn't play Lay Your Hands On me.

Best songs were:

Livin on a Prayer
Blaze of Glory (with a knockin on heavens door intro)
Bad Medicine
Wanted Dead or Alive
Have a Nice Day
It's My Life
You Give Love a Bad Name

All up, they played for well over two hours and played about 20-25 songs.

LOL.

As opposed to the guy who wishes he was Springsteen. ;-)

Nice piece on the gig in the herald today:

It is aptly followed by Bon Jovi's own Wanted Dead Or Alive - whose title would probably echo the sentiments of Hallelujah's writer, Leonard Cohen, towards Jon Bon Jovi if he heard this rendition of his song.

They didnt cover Hallelujah, did they?

Yeah I kinda got roped in to it but have to agree it was a good night. Didn't know any of the newer songs but there were enough hits in between to keep me interested. Wanted Dead Or Alive was my highlight. Top song. On that evidence I do believe it when he says of the million faces he's seen: "he's rocked them all"

I couldn't make it, had my ticket but simply couldn't afford it when i added up everything else eg travel, accomodation, drinks, food etc.

You didn't see Tim Rogers trying to peak over the fence did you? I could just imagine that anus trying to get into the concert and trying to hang out and rub shoulders with real musicians and real stars:lol:

Bon Jovi was average at best.
Looked like they were running on a low budget.
The show was boring, bland. Sound system wasn't the best.

He is a just a singer, not an entertainer.

Good local lads Ooh La La. Rock/funksters from the gritty streets of Western Sydney. I think they won the support slot via some radio band contest. Good effort.

I thought the streets were free of bogans for a couple of nights....now I know why.
ahahaha

Terrigal's streets were teeming with poor merkins that didn't have the brains to work out how much a trip to Sydney would cost.

Incidently, Legend, how similar was the set on both nights?

The setlist differed by about four to five songs but in the main they were pretty close. All the big hits were there on both nights and the second half is pretty much where they go back to their roots.

The stage was a bit bland compared with previous efforts and there was no pyro either.

Bon Jovi did the rendition of hallelujah on the first night only and he did a pretty good job IMO.

Totally disagree with the singer/entertainer bit. He had the crowd right into it both nights and is a seasoned professional.

Your a f**king dickhead. It was then just the price of travel, you see i'm a f/t student, and i also do uni over summertime, i live by myself, and can only work a certain amount of hours a week because of Uni, so if you had any idea of how hard it's to save living by yourself f/t at Uni you'd respect it, and besides why should i justify myself to a bloke who thinks the guy from Midnight Oil is a better guitarist then Eddie Van Halen, gimp.

And before you ask, i actually had to sell my big day out ticket as well.

You think it's funny that people study f/t and have to still support themselves? shows you what type of f**king idiot you are.

Maybe if i went to a stupid local act it wouldn't cost much as the price reflects the quality, cheap and sh*t!

Did someone really say the guitarist from Midnight Oil is better than Eddie Van Halen? For a comment like that, a member should ban themselves for such sheer stupidity.

That's like saing Jeff from the Wiggles is a better pianist than Billy Joel.

It was a very stupid comment, i'd rather he doing it tough financially then having idiotic thoughts like that, he seems to have those moments quite often...........
