Boycott all sponsors affiliated with the dragons

Angela is a Dragon supporter who realizes that the time for positive action has arrived . All we do here about our current situation is bitch and whine about it , some logically, others perhaps illogically .

Nevertheless we all agree upon one point and that is that change must take place - the quicker the better for all parties , the players - the team called St.George Illawarra and last but not least we the long suffering fans .

Should anyone of the sponsors come by this particular thread it would at the very least show that all is not well in Dragon land , particularly to the very people that there product is marketed at . I believe that she has made a step in the right direction.

People can chose to do what they wish to take a stand.

Our major sponsor is arguably, a perfect match for us. Name, colour, emblem etc. A stampede of people pulling loans / accounts from the bank will surely send a message, but if the momentum is such that the bank pulls the pin, the good luck finding a replacement.

Careful what you wish for.

Punishing businesses that keep the JV liquid may lead to change, but in the form of relocation. Individual memberships I can fathom. That alone should send a message.

Red V membership needs to request a position on the 'external review' committee. If this request is not approved, then Red V members along with some members of the media to conduct their own external review and make the whole process public.

On what basis would Red V fans have a right to conduct their own review ? Last I checked we have no member on any board or in a position to avail themselves to club documents.

What entity would allow the media to actually partake in such a review ? Since when are media entities experts in such matters?

Leave the sponsors alone!

They are supporting the club and should be commended for it.

That said, I would hope they apply some pressure... but this is not the way to force them.

I can appreciate everyones thoughts and we are all entitled to feel forthright about our own opinions.

l tend to think we need to support our club sponsors while attempting to make them aware that we need genuine change in our coaching sector. We especially don't appreciate a board treating us like fools so the sooner our sponsors know about the real issues and that of the fans, the better.

l'm a big believer that sponsors carry the most clout and can instill their thoughts onto a board, as good or better than a fan base. Sponsors pay the big bucks, in large chunks, the fans, although many, pay much smaller, less intrusive amounts that a board may dismiss as token gestures, so to speak.

Big business shops at the big end of town where they get noticed.
When needed, they can talk the talk ............. so we need to let them know loud & clear.

We should be working together with them on this .............. saftey in numbers.

Away, just my two bobs worth.

That would be interesting, but I suspect the list is out of date.

I appreciate the need to take action, but campaigns do require some direction and organisation.

And personally, I think there are bigger issues in the world that surpass boycotting sponsors of a football club. People traditionally boycott companies that start wars, cause famine or contribute to environmental vandalism. Just my opinion, but maybe we are losing our way a little bit here.

This list is wrong, but let assume its current.

Crystal Bears is a family business that employs a hand full of people. Yeah lets run them out of business.

Uni of Wollongong is currently a sponsor, so lets send the kids from the South to Macquarie or UNSW.

SMAI, is a sports equipment company started in the Gong some 30 years ago.

Yep, let's change banks NOT beacuse the bank did anything wrong, but due to the fact it spends money saving our club.

My frustration has indeed got the better of me . We have all experienced the highs and lows of recent years - more lows than highs unfortunately and as a result one looks for an answer to our woes , in this case perhaps far too extreme.

Hopefully the review will bring something for the J.V. to work upon , so as our current situation will improve dramatically.

LOL..

You know me too well to defend a bank. Losing them as a sponsor would be massive though. And to all those 2nd and 3rd tier sponsors, like family entities, why should they be punished for an inept board ?

Hope u r well.
