I remember the most monumental rip-off in 1992... my team the Steelers robbed of being in the GF. 3 disallowed tries, 2 for forward passes (one was dead flat, the other went well and truely back!) and we lost 4-0!

I kept saying how much the Cowboys remind me of them, Graham Murray has even draw comparisons. Now it's happened to him again!!! I really feel for the Cowboys fans.

MOS_1982, Saints had a few tries called back too if I remember...

"McIndoe, for the corner!!"

Hey ease up Ben! :p
You had one as I recall... was a clear knock on, a bomb went up, someone had they're hands out to catch it - flicked the fingers.

You wouldn't happen to have a tape of that match? ;-)
Hopefully we'll both be cheering on GF day '05.

Never in all my days as a parramatta and rugby league supporter have i seen a game so poorly adjudicated. I have cried blue murder for ref's after watching parramatta lose games on many occasions, but NEVER have i seen a team be stripped of its rightful chance to be in a grand final than what i saw today. The Cowboys will forever in my mind be champions for the effort they put in. Simpkins should lose his job.

I bought Grand Final tickets three weeks ago, knowing my beloved Parramatta would not make it, but knowing that the game would still be great and have two deserved teams in it. Fifteen minutes ago my Grand Final tickets were torn into many many pieces,

Now you Roosters supporters can rant and rave that i hate the Roosters, and yes i'll acknowledge the fact that the Roosters are not my favourite team, or close to it, but had the Roosters decively or deservedly beat the Cowboys, and the Bulldogs had to Penrith last night, then i would have attended the grand final and enjoyed a spectacle of two great teams who rightfully deserved there place. I REFUSE to go next weekend, and watch the Bulldogs, a deserved team, play the Roosters, who are merely rugby leagues pin ups boys

I invite anyone who gives a damn about rugby league and do what i have done, attend the jersey flegg and premier league finals, but leave before the main game,

Go The Bulldogs (who'd have thought you'd ever hear that from a Parramatta supporter)

Mate I am as fair as the next bloke but all you have done is blow up for no apparent reason. In what instances were the Cowboys rorted, I will admit they were magnificernt during the finals and deserved every bit of praise that went there way but to say they were robbed this afternoon is rubbish and if you want to boycott the GF maybe it's best if you do.

ron palmer threw it away when he was on the field

cheers dazza
If that is true then Palmer should be stood down for the GF he should not be able to be the on field runner. In any case the Ref should have called time out when they were looking for the kicking tee.

there's not a chance i would boycott the GF for two reasons:
1) it's got potential to be one of the great GF's; and
2) there's no rational reason to boycott it.

there is one thing i'm seriously considering boycotting, and that is this forum. i come here to talk about football, not about referees, and i'm getting sick to death of coming here after every game to find all-in ref bashing.
Yeah... you keep saying that. Settle down laddie.

Rugby League is a farce
And how do you explain that 2 tries came to the Cowboys because Simpkins got it wrong and gave them posession at crucial stages? Or didnt you see that, your hatred blinds you?

Theres only one say to whinging geniuss like you...GO EASTS!!!

I wonder what happended to the Kicking tee when the Cowboys had to kick off with 1 minute remaining?

That was the Cowboys fault. Each team has their own guys controlling tees for finals matches. The Cowboys guy was the slow one. Blame him, not the Roosters.

And the first poster should watch the game again and not the last 20 seconds. Cowboys had the majority of 50/50 decisions go their way. If what you say is true and the game was rigged, I suggest you contact the police. Remember bets are placed on the match, so you are accusing the NRL and referee of fraud, since you and the Roosters haters say they intentionally favoured the Roosters.

Easts played brilliantly in the Queensland Cup Grand Final last weekend, but I dont see how that is relevant to this topic

(let me guess, you'll once again have no response to this  )

lol i wish the cowboys got home yesterday but i think boycotting the GF is rather extreme. ive got tickets too...i dont really care who wins but it should be a good game, so im gonna go anyway.

i adore the cowboys and it broke my heart to see the dodgy calls. however, as i said in another post...they made lots of stupid errors and in my opinion thats what lost them the game. bowen had a shocker and there was so many knock ons, dropped balls and missed opportunities. not to mention hannay missing out on that conversion and fein missing the field goal (that was fein wasnt it?). we cant put their entire loss down to shitty reffing.

Well, I'm a Parramatta supporter, I hate the Roosters and I only saw the game from half-time, but I thought the Cowboys received the bulk of good calls in the 2nd half.

The first half must have been shocking. :?

You've written an awful lot, but you didn't give one example of how Simpkins favoured the Roosters.

Perception's a funny thing, because I actually thought Simpkins gave the Cowboys all the lineball decisions. And the penalty count was heavily in favour of Nth Qld.

I thought the Cowboys were the better team, but I don't think Paul Simpkins could be blamed for their losing.

The Roosters, on this form, will be cannon-fodder for Canterbury next week.

1. Ricketson Should got 10 in the bin
2. with 10 seconds to go, Simpkins Gave up but the Cowboys scrum was set and time should of been called off. A chance that Cowboys could of won.
3. Roosters Stripping the ball with Rauhihi in the tackle. That the biggest striped and it was seen by my Blind Grandfather. 2 onto 1 does not make a one on one strip.
