Back on topic will the new team get the honours of the old team?
I think MK dons gave the honours back to AFC Wimbledon after they stole their team so there's some precedent in English sport.

Rangers took the honours as a most recent example.

Dragons consider themselves 16 time champions as per their merged entity. Not sure of Wests Tigers viewpoint but I'd hazard a guess they'd stick with the 1 as the new entity whilst honouring the past 3.

Toronto willing to replace Bulls
  • Last Updated: January 6 2017, 15:39 GMT
Newly-formed Toronto Wolfpack would be ready to step in and take Bradford's place in the Kingstone Press Championship if given the chance, says head coach Paul Rowley.

The Rugby Football League caused a stir by offering the defunct Bulls the chance to stay in the second tier of the professional game under new ownership rather than starting at the bottom of the pyramid, as the Wolfpack are doing in League 1.

The Canadian newcomers are gearing up for the start of the season in March, using training facilities in West Yorkshire, but Rowley says they would be keen to start in the Championship if the opportunity arose.

"We weren't sounded out and nor were any of the Cumbrian clubs," Rowley told Press Association Sport.

"We fully supported starting at the bottom, I think that's right,

"But, if you are asking me if we would take the opportunity, absolutely yes, we would go now. I know that Barrow would do the same, I'm not too sure about the other two, Whitehaven and Workington, although I'd be surprised if they refused it.

"The whole situation is confusing and not consistent with messages that have been given out previously when other clubs have been in similar situations. It creates unrest and debate.

"The one thing we all agree on is that we all want Bradford strong and safe but we do with Sheffield and York and other clubs as well so it's no different. The rules need to be laid down early and then nobody can complain.

"Who knows but if someone asks us the question, then we're ready. But really the option, if it's going to anyone, should go to the Cumbrian clubs - two got relegated and one missed out on promotion.

"That's what I believe but, if someone wants to give it to us, we'll take it."

Toronto have signed former Salford prop forward Adam Sidlow from Bradford to take their number of full-time players to 22, not including three trialists who came from the club's scouting mission in Jamaica and North America.

"It's not enough for the rigours of the season," admitted Rowley. "We're thin in some areas.

"But we've set ourselves a budget and we want to stick within that. We're pretty much done but we'll keep looking."

Wolfpack will play the second of two opposed training sessions with Halifax on Saturday and one against Huddersfield next week before playing friendlies against Hull and Wigan.

Hahahahahahahahahahaha.

I guess Paul Rowley doesn't understand p and r though.

Hahahahahahahahaha.

Poms owned yet again.

for starters its the head coach saying it,hyping up his team..toronto are the only full time team in league one so if anyone from that league would be best placed to replace bradford i suppose it would be them..

but we were'nt really talking about toronto anyway where we!

so barrow would be up for it would they? lets hear it from the barrow chairman! same goes for whitehaven and workington....like i said RL chairman are'nt shy, lets hear it from the guys that have already done the forecasts and budgets for this season

It's not like you'd change your mind even if the Barrow chairman came out and said they'd be keen.

Same as we're not gonna believe that promoting the 3rd place team is a bigger ask than creating a brand new one in under 4 weeks no matter which way you spin it.

Pointless argument at this stage, let it die lol

The Bradford club nxt yr will b the same Bradford club as last yr in my mind. Yes they over spent on players yrs ago, but really that was more the fault if this capitalistic system than the ppl involved. Should still call themseles B Bulls not return to B Northern.

To me its all about the soul and emotional of the club that determines if its the same identity rather than financial and technical reasons

New name Bradfird Northern

Naming rights
Has the name of a new Bradford club already been exposed? It seems as though ‘Bradford Northern’ is the preferred moniker of the revamped Bulls post-liquidation. A @BradfordNorth Twitter account has been set up while the website www.bradfordnorthern.co.uk is under construction. The domain name has been created by a Christoper Hallas from Bradford, who is a director of a number of companies in West Yorkshire.

Bulls hit

More on the Bradford situation, and the grapevine tells us that Marc Green had been haggling with the RFL for the past two years (since he took over the club) over the Odsal lease. Green was keen to get his hands on the valuable real estate. Our source muses that the RFL were desperate to keep hold of Odsal as they see it as the perfect place where they could build a national academy, to become what St George’s Park is to football in England.

Bradford's trial game against the Batley Bulldogs has been called off due to the lack of players at Bradford.
I would say they are cooked for this season which i think starts in about a month.
