Braith Anasta's Contract

This is just like the Moltzen scenario, dragons fans were creaming their undies when they signed him, but have done nothing but bag him and INSIST that they never wanted him in the first place. Anasta has been a great player and leader at the Roosters but now that he is leaving he is suddenly no good and unwanted anyway.

Just like Moltzen I will be glad to have him at the Tigers.

Lol

You know nothing. The Anasta hate has gradually been building in the last 12-18 months.

Take the merkin today

He's been crap all year....when he signed I thought he'd be OK for us, since then hes been playing the worst Ive seen in his career.
His running battles with the refs are a concern too.....always someone elses fault.

I said based on today's game who would he displace from our team?

I didn't see him taking on the Bronco's other than a cut out pass that was well caught by the centre to score. He is a good player (which I have previously acknowledged) in terrible form. I am saying does he displace Marshall (no), Sironen (no), Hino (maybe), Fulton (no) and Blair (no). So where does he fit on his current form?

Best case scenario for him is he goes to 6 and Sironen to centre....

Good number 14 utility.

Rarely would get through a season without injuries to 6, 7, 13 and can play second row. Saves carrying a back on the bench or spare hooker.

He'll be our next Johnny Cronk. We'll all want him to pull on the 14, but Sheens will have him in the 6 or 7...

And that will be criminal and a massive step back for our club.
I can handle him starting in the event of injury for short periods, but buying him as a starter is not a step forward and really hamstrings our side.

Hope to be proven wrong because I can also see him starting every game next year in plenty of different positions and the fans despising him even though he works his butt off.

We'll lose a lot of experience if Tuqiri, Ellis and Utai leave. I am sure if we had Braith in our team last year we would have made the GF. He brings the cool head required in big games and was responsible for the fightback yesterday.

One does'nt notice Anasta whether he is on the field or is'nt, good luck with him. and thanks Tigers for your purchase.

I'll bet one noticed him when he kicked that FG to knock us out of the finals . . . . . .

If your whole team is playing like busteds, it hardly helps.

Sheens will get the best out of him, I think he will prove to be a better buy then most think. His a very experienced campaigner, his professionalism and knowledge of the game will be invaluable to our club.

As stated when he signed - everyone at Wests Tigers from players, coaches, sponsors and members are very much looking forward to welcoming Braith to the Club. I think supporters need to get on the same page and not judge him until later next season.

Maybe Anasta is just over dealing with Brian Smith, as a coach he does have a habit of having one or two good years at a club and then turning the majority of the playing group against him.

I honestly can't believe that there was a club willing to take him off us. Thank you. So much.

He was off contract in any event so not so sure that anyone has "taken him off you"...

He is way past his best to be sure, and I would have him starting off the bench next year ( I'm sure that Shenius will have different ideas..), but all the Roosters fans criticism of him seems way over the top... Brian Smith still picks him every week, and for $200K a year he will provide reasonable depth, particularly when the salary cap will be going north when the next TV deal comes in...

Utai was a questionable signing for the club. Since then though, and particularly this year he has been great. Utai came from Park Footy and played well last year in first grade and has been outstanding this year.

Anasta brings better form than Utai did and like Utai I think he will be reinvigorated in his new surrounds. I reckon he will bring stability, structure, and experience making Marshall & Sironin better players because of it. At 200K, for a team that needs the qualities he brings - it's a good buy.

Anasta will be a good buy, adds experience and leadership. can play 6 or 13.

and on Brian Smith he lasted ages at Parra but once he left there he's got the reputation of 'get in with broom' type of coach. gets a good year out of a team (Roosters GF) and then faulters.
