Interesting at the end of the interview he says his not guaranteed to play but hopes to try to get a shot sometime.
Yep exactly what crap Millward must go through. Gets the players but the dic#head in charge does not use them in the correct way. Then Millward gets blamed for poor recruitment. He is covering his tracks with that comment and stating the obvious.

As a centre you need a football brain to read play in attack & defence, Aitken hasn't got a football brain of any degree. End of story & discussion on Aitken, unless it's about him being released...

Only when Turnstile (&Laughy) is moved on will our backline begin to function - in attack & defence.

Every selection in the outside backs since 2015? has revolved around keeping his Lovechild at 3.
The crazy wing rotations & selection howlers have all been about protecting Aitken’s position rather than giving multiple juniors their legitimate crack in the centres, &,more importantly, fielding our best team.

Mates & sycophants are protected.
Form is irrelevant in Waterboy’s fragile & low IQ universe.

Lomax’s treatment from round 1 this year exemplifies Waterboy’s obsession with maintaining Turnstile at 3 at all cost.
Our backline looked dangerous & functional in the slaughter of Brisbane and the South’s nearmiss - achieved in Aitken’s forced absence.

Journeymen & park hacks have prevailed (no real threat to Aitken - and Williame is yet another).

I know there is nothing new in the sentiments above, but a casual glance at the recruitments ( and predictable failures) of the past 2 years reflect a dismal intellect at work - an imposter surrounding himself with grateful hasbeens offering mateship & a loyalty that protects the coach, buys the shed & feeds the media fake accolades about the coach.

One day the Bewildered One will contemplate his legacy as the most despised coach ever -
and maybe out of that fug between the ears will drift the realisation that his most tragic & contemptible mistakes over the years centred (lets be specific imo) on the selections at all costs of McCrone & Aitken, along with a total failure to professionally relate to & develop youngsters.

So we wait, and wait for a new No 3, that immortal Dragon number - and a refreshed backline that can do our forward pack justice.

Well said- however, this club seems to specialise in producing backs who are turnstiles in defence- a tribute to our assistant coaches- NOT- other examples of said genre are Dufty and Field

But we need speed. Yes we need fast backs but we need to speed up the process before we have old forwards.
In a team we need forwards yes but the key is dynamic halves and the rest can be average and above. Have a look at our great teams in the past number 7 and 6.

Quality outside backs see no future at our club, short of a massive inducement - which hasn’t eventuated because Waterboy protects his centres as an act of faith & at great detriment to our club’s capacity to score tries.
Wing is the only position he’s prepared to fiddle with - and fiddle he certainly has - to no avail at all, leaving us as the laughingstock of the NRL in that respect.
A decent winger would get no service from Turnstile, and perhaps now only a muted Hail Mary flick from a laborious Lafai.

But to get to your question Slippery5, last year I had hopes of an eventual Lomax/Garrick pairing, but we know how that’s ended - and everyone was pilloring Reuben anyway.

Ideally I’d’ve kept Dugan as a centre & enticed Bird/Morris back- but I’m talking ancient history eh - and none in the above 2 paragraphs was going to happen given McDead Man Walking’s infatuation with the Laitkens - who have screwed our Club’s backline development for 5 miserable years.
Had we no deadwood cap waste, Mitchell or a castoff South’s centre may’ve come our way. Capewell wasn’t interested. FMD who would be?
McSelf only buys CC centres to give lip service to recruitment & again to protect the Loved Ones.
So we are left with juniors, which again protects the said pair.

It’s how it’s all designed to work - the protection racket that is.

So if we can’t get those other centres I’ve mentioned (we can’t), I’d select Lomax & Sailor/Saab in the centres (Ford too perhaps) & blood the pick of the promising junior centres (will never happen with McComatose) before Origin.

But there’ll be no changes made.

Gordon Jnr needs to piss his failed mate off before anyone of quality will even think about joining the Club.
Albert’s legacy too is in serious limbo & he’s rapidly lost the respect of the fans ( and that does matter in the sweep of history Craig) - as everyone knows what they’re up to - the narcissism, the nepotism, the delusions & the duplicitous.

The memories won’t be good fellas

I will put it another way.
I don't think any Dragons supporter would disagree that with McNoidea at the helm, it is the worst in living memory of an inept coach/board in the club history (when you look at the roster) that has sucked the life out of us supporters.
When I took my daughter the the GF in 2010 I said to her I was your age (14) when I last went to watch the Dragons win in 79. I said I hope you don't have to wait as long as me to see them win again. My fear is, it is looking much like it..........

I think he seems to be the dumbest bloke ever. But is he really dumb? I was talking to this saints fan in the casino in the early rounds and he liked McGregor. Wierd
I just hated the fact he’d keep playing the same muppets, week after week and come up with dumb plays like not using bench players when you had them available. Dumb and dumber really.

He probably is smart but he’s certainly inexperienced as a coach. He really should have gone to England and got a bit of experience in the SL. As it stands he’s doing his apprenticeship, under no one in the worlds toughest comp. A few years under an experienced coach then moving to the UK for a head coaching role and he might have made a good coach. That’s all history now.

Maybe some experience under a good coach would get that out of him. Either way it’s a pointless discussion because he’s burned his bridges now anyway so there is no doubt his days are numbered, and he’s a dead man walking.

It seems the days of doing drugs and sucking schooners down the pub with your mates is a thing if the past as a footy culture.
Sad or not this is nearly 2020 the year of professionalism.
We must move with the times.

You need the ability to grow into a job. Even working under Jack Gibson would teach Mcdickhead nothing at all. You need to be able to take advice, not throw people under the bus........

Dont know if dumb or smart, but very cunning.
Anyone with his credentials / record ( or lack thereof ) to become the longest serving coach in JV history tells us all we need to know.

I tell you who's dumb.
The f**king board of Directors whom extended this imposter twice.

Bloody-minded Pig-headedness is one of his strong suits.

Inability to see the bleeding obvious is another.

Delusional denial by way of using small victories to justify horrendous errors of judgement is but another.

I could go on but I fear I am preaching to the converted.

The board are directly culpable...

Yes, he has all those traits and more.
All the more reason why I vent at the BOD, as last I checked he wasn't self employed.
2 extensions in a period of underperforming, whilst we sit back and watch the coaching merry go round in full force. And then we end up with the old argument " who's available " ?
Farcical.
