Does anyone really think that Ando will want Delaney over Inu? I dont think so, granted Inu has been very quiet this season and most of last season, but imo has shown more raw talent than Delaney did when he was here. The majority of the team played average last year and so far this year, once things start to click I think you will find Inu will hit his straps once again.

I don't think any of us think that...however, Delaney over Ben Smith would be massive possibility. And an improvement IMO (as much of a fan of Benny as I am)

Its not an improvement if we dont fix up the major problems. Delaney is shining in a team whos dominating in the middle and has possibly the best half back in the NRL. Put him in parra right now and u dont have anything extra.

Well that much is obvious....we need forwards and a halfback, but they might not come straight away. And if Ben Smith is not in Andersons plans now (mixed stories in that regard), why not replace him.

It's all about what's on the market IMO

Well persoanlly id rather not spend up to the cap one season, waiting for some quality forwards to come off contract, then sign a centre on a long term deal which doesnt really address any problem. I think we have internal players that can cover Smith if he is not in Anderson's plans.

I'm with TheRam, we don't need him, unless he is free. We should save our money only for halves or forwards.

Who said anything about a long term deal? And we have to spend to a certain level of the cap...why wait for forwards and not address other areas if we can? Whoever the player, if he's the kind of player that would do well here, why not chase him? A side isn't build in a single off season...

Id just assume he's at that stage of his career where he would want the assurances of a long term deal especially if he's going to leave a club that has done great things for his career.

He`d be good for this club. And I think his dad or his uncle played for Parramatta in the late sixties - Paul Delaney. Is that right, Parra-Pete?

Delaney is just getting exceptional service from prince and others therefore making him look alot better than he was whilst with us, but he is the same player

id take him back and id take tahu in a heart beat we miss him in the blue and gold so much.

But our priority is a half back and at least 1 descent prop. where so short in that department its not funny.

It was Peter Delaney. Played on the wing about 1968..Worked with the PMG (now Telstra) if I remember correctly.
Peter was a member of the Club's first premiership team, the 1964 Third Grade.
One of his teammates in that team was Gary McCulla who, from memory, used to work at the PLClub as a barman.
If Gary is still there, someone should ask him if they are related.
I'm coming to Sydney, at this stage, for the Eels V Cowboys match. I'll ask Fitzy at that game..he'll know for sure if the two are related....
