I'd take him over what we've got to partner Mullen.

In saying that I wouldn't necessarily go after him, but I'd definitely consider it an improvement.

i honestly would think he would make a great partner for mullen, a specialist halfback. sure not the best one, but he would be a better option then dureau, he has a pretty decent kicking game. also he isnt asking for much, he said on the footy show, that he might even stay at melbourne and get a job working there just to make enough money to live on. im all for it, if the money is right.

You are right about one thing. Finchy isn't necessarily after big dollars. I would never say he is crap as a player. His rep selections back that up. Just a tad predictable in his play. JM is correct though. His game under Bellyache at the storm has gone up a notch or two.

You could argue that he's an average player looking good in a great team.

What?

He went to the Storm when they were struggling, and as soon as he turns up they go back to dominating teams.

Melbourne scored 85 points in 6 games without Finch, and have since scored 210 points in 8 games with him.

The team he walked into wasn't going "great" at all.

I'd rather Scott Porter - younger, more creative and would have a smaller price tag

Sounds familiar. Wonder how Ben Cross's injury is coming along anyway...

Yeah he was really average when he made 158 metres and 33 tackles when we beat the Storm last year. And of course, that sort of dominance up-front would've had nothing to do with beating the minor premiers.

And don't start with the "oh you're his fan-boy" sh*t. I'm just sticking up for a player who doesn't deserve to be the butt of your agenda.

I won't go through old stats and look for his poor games to counter your 1 good one, because it would be too hard to find the games he has played in.

Just as I was in agreeance with your Brett Finch opinion too...

Don't kid yourself that it's been one good one.

But in our most emphatic victory of the last couple of years, Cross was outstanding against a top quality team. That's why the club bought him, because he leads from the front and doesn't get overawed by the opposition like so many of our other props have in the past(and the present).

I think his success at the Storm has only proven that he is not a specialist halfback considering he is playing 5/8 for them. Bring him here and we have the same situation we have right now, 1 5/8 and 1 ordinary halfback.

No thanks
