What did you guys think of him in the first 2 tests?

Personally, i thought he did really well. He's quick and strong, made good meters from dummy half and finished nicely. Pretty impressive when you consider that the guy has only been playing league for about 5 years.

Personally I reckon he is exactly the kind of character that international rugby league needs to harness to gain exposure, especially in places like Ireland. The guy has a bit of personality, can certainly play the game and is pretty articulate - hopefully the opportunities for promotion which he presents will not be passed up. And for God's sake, the RLF should do anything within its power to keep the Irish RU away from him.

These guys have to challenge themselves like Morley. Come here on 'prove yourself' contracts, and I agree he looks like he would handle the play, is certainly an athlete. Once proven the dollars will come, especially when they go back to pass on all the knowledge.
The problem is, they get paid well there, why leave?
They want to beat the Aussies one day I pressume. Start sending them this way, it is not like all 15 NRL clubs have class in every position, there is room for some more GB players wanting to test themselves in the strongest Rugby comp in the World.

I think all this talk about Morley is pathetic. He has had another horrible Test series, and was anonymous in the second test. I'll be controversial and suggest that in reality he is no better after playing in the NRL than he would have been by now playing Super League.

The man is a very dumb thug, thats about it.

I will agree, he has not had a good series for GB (not over yet). He does however play well for the Roosters the most consistant team in the NRL for the past couple of years, and yes he is their enforcer, and as such can go high etc. He is not alone there.
The idea is still valid, despite your thoughts on Morley. Want to test yourself, you play the best.

I rate Carney highly on what I have seen so far. He could easily slot into centre or wing at most NRL clubs now and I think it would be a good thing for GB league.

I understand that he's signed a new three year deal with Wigan that would keep him there until 2006. That would make him 30 when his contract is finished there and his best years would then be behind him.

Class player though and it's great to see that rugby league in the UK is not restricted to a 10 mile buffer round the M62.
