So we'll expect to see the back of Dessy than this year too?

If he doesn't perform, yes! Everyone forgets than Manly were tipped as one of the favorites for the spoon in 2005. I don't think Des has too much to worry about yet!

it would be the right thing to do!..look there is some more to this than what people think, I have sneaking suspicion that there may be little more on Brians mind then getting his next gig but I also wouldn't completely rule out the prospects of a coaching co-ordinator role.

regardless of whether we win a comp or not 10 years is a long time and we need a fresh change even if it means releasing a premiership winning coach.

I think you need a fresh change but i would sever all ties with Smith.

care to pay the 250K it will take to sever the tie? seriously he's a true professional and will do a great job, in his last season, and will work close with his successor.

I mean sever ties when his contract expires at the end of 2006, and not have him as a co-ordinator after that!

Don't be so touchy Colonel. I'm only giving my opinion, why the personal attack?

I'm tired of Manly fans with two cents to spend who don't read the whole story....

Do you think they will announce a new coach by then? I doubt it!! It would be destablising and what happens if by some miracle Parramatta win the 2006 GF?

Do you sack a premiership winning coach??

The Brumbies did a couple of seasons ago...

Hell it could work for us

Just announced on Skynews, that the Eels will be releasing BS in 2007 and will not be renewing his contract that expires at the end of 2006.

The reason given was that 10 years at one club is considered enough.

What happens if we win the GF next year ???

Interresting...........................:-k

even if we win they will release him, 10 years is a lonnnnnng time

Fitzy was on BSB this morning saying how they sat down and spoke about it. He said Smithy was not that surprised.

And so for the big question ...

How does this affect the prospect of Jamie Lyone returning to the club in 2007?

I'm lead to believe that we won't be offering him a contract.
