No, it's quite right that the questions are being asked now...

If we believe that Parramatta is to be a successful club and return to the dynasty days of the 80's, then we must continually look and seek the areas of improvements.

Brian's first 5 years were outstanding in terms of results and developing players, and with a bit of luck, could have bagged a couple of Premierships.

However, the last 2 seasons (for whatever reasons) have fallen short of expectation. Perhaps not all, but some of the blame has to fall on Brian for not being able to adapt as quickly and not having the sufficient depth.

Another poor season, and the rumblings will get louder.
But on a positive note, Brian has cleared out the non-performers and brought in a new batch...bring it on !

Thats a good point Brian has cleared out all shit such as Ricards, Kusto and Co., I can't see a weak link in the Parra squad. We will soon see.

!

Dynasty days are dead. The Slaray Cap, has rightly put an end to such things. Clubs go through cycles where they are in the top group of clubs, but nobody holds "dynastys". The only sport with a Salary Cap that has seen a dynasty in recent years is AFL with the Lions, but even they weren't the best team during the regular season last year, and the stupid concessions that they are allowed, gives them a ridiculous advantage.

We were in that top group and missed out on the big prize over the late 90's - early "naughties". Hopefully we will be back where we belong in that top group this year with the new group of players brought to the club mixing with the old.

I can - #7.
Got a rookie who is still learning. A couple of years off from being the gun half that is needed to take the premiership, but maybe Witt could be the answer in a couple of years.
Thorman is a wildcard. How he goes is anyone's guess.

Garbage PB...

Players are usually signed to 2-3 year deals. Hold on to your best.

With a bit of luck, Parramatta could have picked up the 19989, 1999, 2000, 2001 premierships.
In AFL, Essendon could/(should) have picked up the 1999, 2000 and 2001 premierships.

You may be closer to the point in that teams do not have to be the best all season to take out the title. What it comes down to is that one game in the finals, where if you do not perform for that 80 min, the season is judged as a failure

Dynasty is no way dead.
During the season, manage your players so that they are in a position to challenge for the title. Have them ready so they are playing their best footy in late August/September, and metally primed and focused.
(With your share of luck) take the title.

Can you honestly say that with Hindy for the whole year we wouldn't have been a Top 4 Club? How many games did we lose by 6 or less? Sheesh

Yup - we would maybe have just scrapped into the 8 like we did in 2002 when we had Nathan. Looking back now, the only thing that really prevented 2002 from being a disaster was that Hindmarsh was not injured.

And those close games we won (Auckland, Cowboys, Broncos) ?

But dude, what about the close ones we lost (Saints, Manly, Warriors, Melbourne)

In the 1st 13 rounds where Hindy plaY 1/2 a game the Eels won 3 games.

In the final 13 games where Hindy played 12 the Eels won 9 games.

Note: I'm counting byes but from memory the Eels had one by in the 1st 13 rounds and the other in the final 13 rounds.
