If we don't manage to come back John Morris only has 40 mins left in the Blue and Gold.

P.O.Q show pony

We have our third straight set attacking their line and this dickhead kicks dead on the 3rd tackle. Idiot!

tbh, I thought that was a genius play, it was just nobody else could read it as well as he did.

He has never stood up for us in important games...he is an average utility borderline reserve grader ala Luke Burt.

Hard to win comps with these players in key positions....still dissapointing and we're trying hard.

Can anyone tell me why/how love-o showpony Morris made his way to halfback for that last scrum?

Does he even wanna win? He is so bad that at times it looks like he's helping the opposition. God i'm glad he's going to the Tigers.

so ur happy 4 us to be the next cronulla? never winning anything???

That game was more than winnable. Players in key spots didn't stand up...and I don't give a f what anyone says...Jason Taylors team selections and tactics the last few months have been baffling. Souths should have kept Bomber McCrae.

So the like 9 games we won in a row had nothing to do with Taylor?... fool.

JT = right place at right time.

We had the players...we had the structure....we had the resources- we just needed a change in attitude...which JT did a good job turning around.

But when the big games rolled around and we needed new tactics...and team selections were vital he f'd up majorly.

we will be better next year with Finch as Tim Smith does go missing and we need someone to guide us around.

the game was there for the taking, our performance was ridiculous. Hayne and Grothe seemed to be the only ones making an impact. Our service from dummy half is what killed us, we did not get a roll on at any stage.

I agree that was a crucial moment in the game and it pissed me off as well.

I must agree with everything PIG has said.

Question for you PIG:

Opinion on Tim Smith?

Question for you PIG:

Opinion on Tim Smith?

Tim Smith is as raw as hell...and his game has had no improvement since last year.

I saw an interview with Brian Smith earlier in the year where they asked him if Tim Smith needed to add things to his game and he said something like "no, what he did last year worked and got us to the minor premiership'.
Well that in part shows why B.Smith has never won a comp. Hopefully under Hagan (an ex Origin halfback) Tim Smith adds new dimensions to his game.

Also most young playmakers have the luxury of coming into a side with an experienced half. Cronk/Hill, Carney/J.Smith, Mullen/Johns, Burns/Orford, Holdsworth/Barrett/Sherwin, Benji/Prince.
In the past Finch/Fittler, Johns/Hagan, Gower/Alexander...the list goes on.

Unfortunately for Tim he's been paired with a makeshift 5/8 who is not a 5/8ths @sshole to be honest.

I'm willing to see what Tim adds to his game under Hagan and what sort of combo he and Finch can get happening before I crucify him. It's not as though there weren't flashes of good things today- mixed with many wrong options. He hasn't let us down in big games for 9 seasons like certain others.

good post, always thought morris was a better hooker than half or five eighth and he proved that again today. tim smith has a lot of work to do to become the geniune article hopefully hagen can help him realise his full potential.

Morris really is a hack at 5/8. Some of his options today (and the last few weeks) were a disgrace. Parramatta has persisted with fill-in players for ten years. Hopefully Hagan can bring a new attitude to the club.

By the way, this is not a shot at Taylor. He was painted into a corner somewhat because of what was going on before he got the job.

AT the start things were easy for JT....then when we rolled around to the big games he got exposed for the rookie he is and made some dreadful decisions.

It all started with the McKinnon/Burt issue and playing two fullbacks. He wouldn't pick lower grade forwards when we had injuries and kept throwin in lower grade backs. When Grothe pulled out of the Broncos game we were crying out for another forward and he bought in another winger.
He started getting too tricky for himself and his Brian Smith mentoring began to shine thorugh.

I actually am beginning to think that it was a masterstroke to sign Hagan. JT did have some selection nightmares decisions in late 2006.
