Personally I think this is a good move for Capewell and the Broncos if it happens. Riki and Piakura are the future and better players right now.

Went out to watch Mal Meninga Cup on the weekend. @ blokes stood out for the Wynnum side that I hope we're looking at or already have on the books. Beni Allen and Harry Armstong. Very good talents

Beni Allen is with the Broncos - I'm not sure about Armstrong. Harry is a member of the Maroons U/19 squad, so he's on the radar but I haven't read any NRL affiliation. Typically when that's the case that means the player is with a non-Queensland side.

Apparently NRL Physio has revealed on Twitter/X that Haas is out 4 - 6 weeks with minor surgery required.

Unfortunately I think Armstrong is linked with the Titans but I hope I am wrong.

This Ezra Mam incident. I keep reading where this will be a test for Maguire as the incoming coach. Doesn't the responsibility to deal with this issue lie with management and the CEO. Maguire is employed to coach the club not deal with the behaviour and discipline of players outside the training paddock. It's obvious management have NFI.

Agree. That’s a serious criminal issue and the coach won’t have anything to do in dealing with it. I suspect he (Maguire) won’t get a chance to coach Ezra. Massive shame, he was a gun player for us with huge potential.

Re the resigning of Selwyn Cobbo. Whilst I am not a big fan of either, wouldn't his ability to play across several positions make him a better re-signing then Kotoni Staggs. As displayed against Penrith, Staggs defence is sub standard. Whilst Cobbo can be hot and cold, he is going to win you more games then Staggs ever will.

We suck, the question is why do we suck so much? Is it time for a clean out? We are dumb if we pay stags $1.2 mil.
There's not going to be a clean out. Their in fact currently busting their arse to resign the current mob, Reynolds, Staggs, Cobbo, Hetherington, etc.
Reynolds plays in a dinner suit, he only got tackled twice last night and both times struggled to get up. And he wants to go round next year.
Personnel wise, they have an extremely overrated, overpaid playing roster.

Reynolds isn't the problem, if he wasn't there we'd be running last, the forwards have been out muscled a few times this year.
In Haas & Carrigan, you have 2 of the best forwards in the game. The problem is they take every second hit up. I presume Maguire sets the game plan strategy. Does he have no faith in the other forwards, or don't they want to contribute.
Might be better off chasing a few forwards, then paying 700k, for a lazy, suspect defensive centre.

No idea, was it like that last year? We got hammered in that 2nd of half the season (except for a few games like the Cowboys), I don't know if that was down to the coaching.

I think the roster is a big part of the problem. They are so over rated. Where are all these so called superstars, that made them premiership favourites. They aren't out there performing every week.

We lost players from 2023 that made a difference last year, but like any other club they should have been able to absorb it, something isn't right with the forward pack, and I don't think Hunt/Reynolds is a good combo, would be interesting to just see Hunt at half now.
