AFL is palming off Money to Media company in Melbourne to not show anything melbourne storm or Rugby league Related in there local news apart from Results, yet it is the 2nd highest attendence sport in Melbourne.

These Media company are of a TV industry and these have had and currently have media rights with the AFL.

My friend has got evidence with this situation

Meaningless stats?

They're facts little man.

I know you're trying to be a good troll, but you're too stupid to be a troll's left knacker. A good troll knows his enemy, not only do you not know your enemy, you don't even know the code you're defending.

No one said AFL doesn't exist, but it was given a huge boost by Super League and then the AFL's decision to allow them to spend $600,000 more on players than any other club, apart from the Swans.

League murders AFL in the ratings in Qld, period.

Give me a call when the Gold Coast League team hits the ground and see how popular AFL is in SE Qld compared to League.

i'm not a troll, i'm a genuine leaguie........i loves my league.......stop calling me a troll, that's an insult.

i'm just frightened that rleague will die and be over taken by afl........i only come on this forum to be reassured by other diehard leaguies.

i only have the best interests of league at heart.

The lions large crowds are due mainly to the huge amount of victorians moving into south east Queemsland. Beleive me the number is scary.
And they have not come here to become part of our culture but to bring theirs with them and spread it, parcicularly when it comes to sport.(They only have one.)
We all know the victorians are probably the biggest surporters of their football code in the country if not the world, of all the the footy codes.
These people are fanaticul in their surport and are not going to miss out on a live game of AFL just because they have moved to QLD, redardless if the team they surport is playing or not. Iam sure they would adopte the lions as their second team very quickly. Remember for many Vics going to a AFL game is like going to church and has always been part of their life.
The number of ex-victorians in the lions crowds would be staggering and iam sure a figure the lions admin would not like to be made too public.

i've said this before and i'll say it again........were being swamped by boat loads of illegal mexican criminals who think they can just walk in wearing their ridiculous sombreros and singing 'la cooka racha'.

well i've had enough!!!

i'm going to join the queensland rleague militia and volunteer to patrol the southern border and keep those mexican scum out of our rleague heartland. their very presence defiles the memory king wally.......if these illegals want to come to our country they should accept our culture and not try to force their pagan rituals upon us.........phuk multi-culturalism, they should assimilate and integrate and if they dont likes it then pack up and p1ss off back home!!!

With a mentality like that you must be a victorian. That approach has certainly worked for them.
league is still almost totally blacked out by tv,radio and the print media in vic.
They don't reserve their hostility for just league of course, it's AFL or nothing down there. It's a systematic approach implymented by everyone from the public to the pollitics.
How else could you explain our so called sporting captial that still has no desent facility for league, union or soccer.
We in QLD are amatuers in our sporting bais compared to the vics.
These are of course the very same people moving to QLD, bringing their narrow minded sports culture with them.
Still it's comforting to know that queenslanders aren't being converted to thinking AFL is the only game on the planet. And that most of those poor deluded souls at the gabba are in fact are victorians.
By the way how did you slip past the boarder patrols.

Hopefully a lot of these Victorians who live in QLD and NSW will start moving back and take with them a view of another premier sporting competition. It all starts with awareness of the sport as a whole. These people will want to see if anything the results of NRL matches, and that is a start.

And can they hurry up and build that bloody rectanglar stadium in Melbourne, Rubgy League needs it quick smart to showcase the sport as it should be seen.

3 rugby league teams in qld to 1 afl team..... if gold coast and the cowboys had never even been in rugby league im sure the broncs could average about 40,000 to their games.

Lol, wow, the dumbest thing ever said on this forum. How does a team in the other side of the country and a team that hasn't taken the field yet (and hasn't done so for almost 10 years,) affect the Bronco's attendance figure?

Lots of Queenslanders actually hate the Broncos, however the average Queenslander likes the Lions even if they don't care about AFL in general. If the Broncos had not been the major player in the superleague war every game would be sold out. I dare say every game for the Gold Coast will be sold out in 2007 because South East Queensland loves League.

Fair comment Tap Twist Snap. Look at Broncos crowd figures pre super league and compare post super league. Ever since John Ribots "vision" the broncos are on the nose with many queenslanders. There is a misconception that all queenslanders go for the broncos, that is not so. Many gold coasters remember the death of the financially viable and competitive Chargers when the competition became one again. Its no secret the broncos had blood on their hands with that deal. SE Qld is rugby league heartland, they just need a team to support other than the broncos.

NEWTOWN TO WIN THE NSWRL PREMIER LEAGUE!

I think AFL fans generally go to watch more matches. I heard it was because there is so much more off ball action which you can see at the game compared to league.

Been to a few AFL matches and left at half-time in a couple. Free tickets so no loss there.

Pure rubbish. Wouldn't waste my time in the future unless free box tickets were part of the deal.

But each to their own I guess.

You will never be Australias 2nd biggest state with that attitude, besides I think you'll find that the vast majority of interstate migation into Qld is from NSW.
But at least you have confirmed what the majority of Victorians view on Qlders as being xenophobic red necks

another conspiracy, ever heard of the term newsworthy.
They don't reserve their hostility for just league of course, it's AFL or nothing down there. It's a systematic approach implymented by everyone from the public to the pollitics.
So the goverment is invoved, another watergate perhaps.
How else could you explain our so called sporting captial that still has no desent facility for league, union or soccer.
Our Gridion and Ice hockey facilities are crap also, I'm starting to sense an anti-american sentiment by Victorians
These are of course the very same people moving to QLD, bringing their narrow minded sports culture with them.
This is from the state that brought us Pauline Hanson and one Nation and veiw Sir Joe as a hero.
Still it's comforting to know that queenslanders aren't being converted to thinking AFL is the only game on the planet. And that most of those poor deluded souls at the gabba are in fact are victorians.
What were you saying about being narrow-minded

Victorians are less tolerant to opposition than any other state in Australia.

Hell, AFL can draw a decent crowd in Brisbane, and a 1/2 decent crowd in Sydney, one-off events pull crowds in Melbourne, but put anything regularly in Melbourne and it'll die in the arse quickly because their eyes glaze over and they immediately think, "oohhh, AFL is OUR sport, we can't afford to let anyone else get a foothold".

The exact reason why Union didn't stick a side in Melbourne. A national sport gave Melbourne the flick because Perth is the better option when neither has much of a Union presence anyway...

hahahahahahahaaha

They're also pretty stupid. How the hell SOO got 85k to a game in Melbourne is laughable. I love that it happened but it wouldn't happen anywhere else. An SA v Vic SOO AFL in Sydney would draw 5,000 even if they plugged it for 6 months beforehand.

Maybe that's because AFL is sh*t though....
