Brisbane3 - What is needed to make it a successful bid?

Yeah, I have to admit I was worried they might end up being an enclave club, only really supported by their local suburbs - but the way they've caught on as a genuine alternative to the Broncos for all Brisbane (while still aknowledging their roots) has been good.

They play in region with larger population than Canberra and that's including part of north Brisbane and sunshine coast

As much as I am behind a brisbane3 team I can’t justify it ahead of a nz2 team. It’s a shame we can’t get to 20 teams with both.

The only ways that could happen are relocation of an existing club, replacing an existing club, or pushing PNG back for the 21st team because they're "not ready" for team 19 or even 20.

All those scenarios are pretty unlikely.

Redcliffe Peninsula has an estimated population of 66,400, so no. Don't give me this Sunshine coast crap. Canberra can say they represent the whole riverina area if they wanted to.

There's no plan. Best bids will be selected. Nobody predicted PNG in 2020. People here wanted bombers and Firehawks back then, but we got team based in outer suburbs of Brisbane.

Wynnum is definitely not Redlands.

The football club may be very closely linked with clubs in the Redlands, but Wynnum-Manly is a very distinct community of Brisbane's bayside.

The Redlands is an agglomeration of everything from Thorneside to Carbrook but Tingalpa and Lota Creeks are firm northern boundaries.

Once again, Wynnum is definitely NOT in the Redlands.

the argument isnt the geographical location of the suburb but where they pull players from which is redlands, its undeniable fact as per the very own seagulls website lol

a question was asked if seagulls could be an nrl club and it was answered no in part due to redlands not being big enough, seeing redlands feed majority of seagulls then its kinda answers itself. cinders made it a geographical issue.

Original post said Iona was in the Redlands.
pretty sure he said its technically in brisbane 2 posts down and gave cinders the whingers his props and admitted he was wrong on that iona topic but then the entire chat was about footy players ie juniors and where they are pulled from in relation to seagulls and as it happens to be, redlands all day baby. the chat was also about if seagulls could have an nrl club and he pointed towards redlands because wynnum does in fact pull majorly from redlands. he also pointed out that most iona rugby league juniors would already be playing for seagulls and most seagulls juniors at that age get fed from, ya guessed it redlands baby.

then there was a chat about bayside and how its not redlands yet wello and vicky points, birkdale are all bayside and yet yep ya guessed it, redlands baby.

so i ask ya sir, where besides iona is he wrong which old mate admitted to anyways? cinders is just a complete fart sniffer, clueless about local footy it seems. this is the basis of the entire chat after all, local footy who wynnum pull players from, players which would play dual school for iona and juniors for seagulls and chat why they couldn't be an nrl club. in the basis of the topic and the footy chat, nothing old mate said is incorrect lol
