Brisbane3 - What is needed to make it a successful bid?

You don't think the Jets can go it alone?
No one thinks Ipswich Jets can go it alone.

Yes, Jets as a brand can go it alone.

But the question is then why? If there’s a potential synergetic partnership on offer which only strengthens a bid then you look into it.

For the record Jets as a club have previously gone at it alone. The key metrics are in place ie assets, commercial opportunities, population, branding, juniors, etc but some of it is under developed ie their assets aren’t/haven’t been converted into net cash and that is essentially a short term issue, to an extent anyways.

and failed.

Pretty sure they desperately joined with the Brisbane Bombers as a last resort and that failed too.

questions around their financial clout remain in regards to being part of a international competition for mine.

Wonder if money Newtown with singo would've helped them get going

Kinda seems you’re just pissing in the wind here.

They joined with Bombers because like Tigers, why not. Is there a disadvantage to not doing it? Nope. It only helped increase the strength of their overall position.

For context the Bears, Perth, PNG have also bid and failed multiple times since 2005-2008 onwards. 2 decades later they’re locked in. Jets just need to find the right ingredients, whether that is with East Tigers, or stand alone, or in some other agreement/arrangement or concept remains to be seen.

The Singo money for Newtown, for Central Coast, for Ipswich at some point starts becoming a myth. A declaration reported on in media circles at various times yet never came close to an actual realisation at any time.

Jets are next
Ipswich should be consumed by the South Queensland Titans who should play 7 games on the GC and 5 at Lang Park and train a lot at Ipswich.
We need to expand the titans in an effort to fix them. You don't want to abandon the GC but it is a honey trap for pro sports such that less is more.
Start by renaming them and taking 3 games to Lang.

Ipswich is like Redcliffe it's its own jurisdiction and deserves its own team. Plus it would be good to have more Queensland derbies.

It seems like too small an area.
Why has their league team the Jets never bothered to build a decent stadium like Redcliffe did if there is this passion for the Jets. I see their games on TV and it looks like they play in a cow paddock.

It’s In the western growth coridoor

Dopey gallop saw its potential almost 15 years ago but wasn’t allowed to add a second Brisbane team until 2015

There are ground proposals and I’m sure the qld govt would get it up to 20k to get an nrl team

If there is passion for a team in Ipswich why doesn't it show up in their crowds for Jets games? Didn't Redcliffe at least have that?
What is the average crowd for Jets games v Redcliffe when they were in the same comp?

Edit: for a club that wants into the NRL they should be ashamed of the fact they play at a cow paddock. I just looked up Ipswich Reserve - couldnt they at least make that crap hole rectangular with some hills?

Qld cup who goes and watches that

Dolphins crowds in nrl reflect what Ipswich would get in the nrl

Still think Brisbane 3 should play most games at Victoria park just to be different to the other two sides

I don't think the Jets have close to the support Redcliffe had. Am I wrong?
When the dolphins were in qrl maybe not too much different

Brisbane population will grow by one million people and lots in that area

Broncos literally can’t cater for many more fans as it is all their games will be sold out

Problem is bid had no money backers previously except when Newtown jumped on board

Linking with east tigers it’ll be a strong bid

I’m worried they take Christchurch place and if they do I’ll be blaming @redandblackbear

Just Ipswich is going to have over 100 percent population growth to 2046 to 750k

It’s like western Sydney massive population growth

Is Ipswich going to go skyrise?
They 100% should, I hate urban sprawl and destruction of bush when they can go up.

Why hobble a new team playing at an oval? Surely a similar setup to the Dolphins playing 10 at Suncorp and 2 at Ipswich Reserve would work and helps the justification for the Suncorp expansion?

If Gallop or Greenberg were still around I wonder if game still be at 16 teams and lagging behind other code?! Best thing game can do is get those guys jobs with rival codes lol

Broncos at qe2 v crushers at Suncorp

It’s a point of difference for a new club and the facilities will be superior to Suncorp even with an upgrade (bars corporate lounges etc)

Even if it an oval reality is its going to be qld best stadium and will be awfully under-utilised with the lions crowds

Unless it is multipurpose (as in retractable to a very good rectangular stadium) then no way.
