I used to be against branding them Redcliffe but I have changed my mind. You can call them whatever you want, people will know they are Redcliffe so may as well just embrace the traditional name. Redcliffe is the first port where Europeans settled in QLD too, although most people don't have a clue about that.
Yeh I don’t think it matters now if they want to go back to their historical name

They are established

if the Jets and South Island are 20 and 21 the big (and maybe final expansion) question is: who would get 22?

we’re lucky we find ourselves in our current position but team 22 could be like the AFL’s predicament of team 20
Its probably be time for us to look at Adelaide in that scenario

It seems like too small an area.
Why has their league team the Jets never bothered to build a decent stadium like Redcliffe did if there is this passion for the Jets. I see their games on TV and it looks like they play in a cow paddock.
Redcliffe also seems like a small area and the Dolphins have done alright. Ipswich like Redcliffe is its own jurisdiction not part of Brisbane and having a rich history of Rugby League and there are plenty of people in Queensland who would love more Queensland derbies.

If the NRL was to go to 22 teams could we see a scenario of the decoupling of the west tigers with the magpies half remaining in campbelltown and the tigers relocating to Brisbane?

17 dolphins
18 bears
19 chiefs
20 NZ2
21 Brisbane tigers
22 Adelaide

Well if NZ 2 (likely Christchurch) & another SEQ club (Brisbane Easts? Ipswich? Both as a partnership? Some other bid?) are teams 20 and 21, then team 22 opens a heap of questions...

Do we go expanding somewhere totally new like Fiji or Adelaide? Big risk, but a totally new market.

Do we go somewhere that might split an existing fanbase like Auckland 2, another Brisbane team or Melbourne 2?

Or somewhere that's a bit of both (new market AND maybe a bit of cannibalising an existing fanbase) like NZ 3 outside Auckland/Christchurch.. or Central Coast.. or Central Queensland?

Ideally, both should get up.

The game will need to do its due diligence with player pool resources and continuing to work on its core infrastructures and pathways.

PNG for all the whining people have is a shot in the arm with opening up new player resourcing potential for all clubs. But it’s still a little way off.

On Jets; I’m all for it. I understand the potential that’s in the region and believe that potential meets all key metrics and markers for growth, uplift and stability. Must be mentioned though, that the Perth Bears & East Tigers likely affiliation will dictate how much energy I can potentially put into Jets short term. Everything comes with a price. If the scenario of Tigers/Jets combined proposal and bid is the way forward then great. No genuine short term promised restrictions with the energy I can potentially put forward. The next 12-18 months will be interesting.
hopefully a joint tigers/jets model is put forward! if for no other reason, you can at least continue to update us
