Broncos game-what happened?

I turned off the radio and internet and went and played Halo to try and stop thinking about it( i'm a nervous wreck during the game). I thought we had the Broncos, but sounds like we found a way to lose again according to ABC radio on QLD.

Guys please detail me with all the highs and lows of the teams performance. It was a game that was of huge importance to us and I can't believe we lost it. On the plus side the team do appear like they are getting closer to "clicking" but the
season is almost over for petes sake.

Ps I am SICK of Glen Lazarus bagging the Raiders and sucking up to the Broncos.
Stupid brick head....

Great
Croker (had an awesome game IMO)
Miller

Good
Smith (solid as always, but needs to take more control. Carney isn't really ready to run a side yet)
Schif
Howell (Much better than last week, solid on attack and took the right options on D)
Graham
Withers (obviously a hooker)

Indifferent
Adamson
Hindmarsh
Carney (some great kicks, but keeps on taking on the line where he looks like theres no chance he'll make a break. Stunts our attack at times)
Cross
Tongue

Poor
Mogg

Very Poor
Frawley

Once again we muscled up for 60-70 minutes but just couldn't execute in the crunch. Its one of those games you watch and get so excited because we looked like we were gonna win it around the 55minute mark, but then we can't close out the game. Costly errors from Mogg and Frawley let them back in.

Just so frustrating, whats the point in putting in all that effort to let the game slip away. Same story every weekend.

Tounge i thought was good, he didn't do much wrong from what i saw. But rest totally agree. First half Tate was carving us up don't know if that was Graham mis tackling or Frawley.

I just don't unerstand how our team can make so many errors. It happened last week it happened again this week. We can't win a Prem like this.

Mostly agree.
Miller is awsome. Croker had a top night. Also thought Graham, Withers and Tongue all looked dangerous in attack......that is until Frawley got involved.
Also id put Hindmarsh in the "good" category. He made some crunching hits.

I can not believe that try from Frawley was rejected...
it's the only thing he did right all night,
and it had more downward preasure than half the trys I've seen this season!
at very least we should have had the chance at the kick.

Mogg, once again crap but it did show what can happen if/when he passes. maybe he should practice this move during the week.

Flying Phil, great game, intercept and running game should be commended, but unfortunatly for that dive for the line, he should have crossed his legs.

and congratulations to the Broncoes for trying to take the place of Michael Crocker as dirtyest players in the league. would be nice if a penalty was awarded for elbows and fists in the tackle.
But then again if they didn't get penalised for a spear tackle, whats an elbow or two, to the face?!

What Happened?

I only saw the 2nd half and will watch the tape today. We matched them, Graham had a chance to seal it with about 10 - 15 to go and just put a toe on the line so the try wasn't awarded. The next set we gave away some silly penalties and let them down our end. They crossed our line a few times and took the 2 points. In summary, the game was so tight that it came down to a Graham stud on the touchline to not get the away win.

I agree with Bay72, that was a try to Frawley at the end of the match and Schif would've had the kick of his life from the touchline to send it to golden point.

Our attack in the last 3 weeks revolving around Withers, Smith and Carney is the best it has been in a very long time. It is allowing players like Graham to get the ball in hands and have a go. The footy I saw indicated that we played them on the fringes as much as the ruck which I actually thought we were incapable of. This was the pleasing aspect of the game for mine.

Ed, at least Carney is going to the line. Have a look at what the best playmakers do, go to the line and run or pass, this creates opportunities. What you are trying to do is keep the defence guessing what you will do as playmaker. He got caught a few times as did Smith and Withers but I will take that anyday over the Drew, Finch, McLinden catch - pass, catch - pass.

To be honest I can't believe we lost, or the fact we let it slip! It was ours at 18-10... no doubt the Frawley drop coming out of our own terrritory was the turning point. They scored off the next play and we were struggling from there.

Shame Phil put his toe into touch, IMO that would have sealed it. And how was Frawley's put down NOT fine!?!?!?!? :X

Argh... there goes the finals :(

Totally agree woodgers, carney in his first grade infancy, looks to have a lot more to offer, its going to be exciting once his experience is up and he is taking the bull by the horns!

I agree he has to take on the line, just think he does it a bit too much. Our backs have no idea how to run off his passes, guess thats what happens with 2-3 seasons of Drew and McLinden at half.

I'm not making excuses, but I hope Mander never refs another Raiders game! I think our finals hopes are gone now boys. We had to win that.

PS
Saw Germ at the Caxton after the game, and he said he is going around again next year.

Carney's kicking was brillant, there was numerous kicks where he put the ball in behind the broncos.

Looks like we should all turn up at the Parra Away game and sing our hearts out and stick it up everyone!

I think you're getting him mixed up with Schifcofske, dude.

They both come in and make very non-threatening runs at the line in opposition 20. Schif definately does it more though.
