Brett Seymour will have first shot at the position given he was the incumbent before the season ending knee injury. At the time, Seymour was being talked about as partnering Darren Lockyer in the halves for QLD as well, if fit (all reports he will be), Seymour will wear the 7 jersey.

As for Berrick Barnes, our next 'superkid' as some in the know are calling him, well...I take the 'wait and see' approach though I am eagerly awaiting an e-mail from a mate who is in the know with Brisbane'sjunior developement in which I will share the reply with the Bronco fans here at LU.

I read that Barnes is a contender for the merry go-round that is our dummy half position though I would prefer a specialist there like Mick Ryan or Barry Berrigan if they are right to go in 2005.

From what I recall Barry went pretty good at hooker

So did Neville Costigan in a few games this year...does that make him a hooker up to taking on guys like Buderus for 26 rounds in the NRL ? No.

costigan is a good player, but a back rower, not a hooker. Seymour will definately be the halfback to start the season, id like to see b berrgian given another shot with the number 9 jersey....

Seymour will be our halfback, I believe. If he gets injured again. *touch wood*, Berrick will probably be our halfback.

Yeah, there's a lot of talk about him playing as our hooker, but there's Barry Berrigan and Mick Ryan still. These two are expert hookers, though Bazza would be my pick. Berrick has only played hooker twice in his life, so he's still inexperienced in that position.

Whats wrong with S Berrigan at 7? I always thought he did Ok in that position. Then Tate & Hodges will be centres.

Berrigan at half = limited ball movement to the outside backs.

Berrigan does not let down Brisbane where ever he is on the field, though at half he tends to run too often at the wrong time and dies with ball in hand too much.

Berrigan in the centres is a nice fit for us as he can scoot from dummy half as much as he likes taking heat off the forwards as well us die with ball in hand if need be which is not on for a half.

Considering that Seymour would have been the Queensland halfback in 2004, I am pretty certain when I say that he will be in the halfback spot next year!
