So I kinda forgot about this thread as I was building. I have a couple of construction photos but have to get them off my phone.

Finally got it finished. There's a few things I'm not happy with... The monitor needs a bezel and glass, but that can wait.

Also couldn't source a router so had to cut the T moulding and glue it on. Will have to get a router and some new T molding later on to finish it off.

It's got about 2000 jobs on it. Big hits so far have been mostly Megadrive and MAME: Sonic, Golden Axe, NBA Jam, Donkey Kong, Pac Man, Ninja Turtles.

Lion King and Aladdin on the Megadrive had about a 2 hour workout this morning.

Gonna start looking more at NES and SNES games tomorrow. Also need a decent controls config file as we're manually setting them as we try each game atm.

If you find good config files let me know. I've doing one as well at the moment. Got n64 worjing fine. Even daphne (the old laser disc games).

Been interesting to get them running. Especially on the piece of crap PC in using. Onboard vid. From about 2008. Goal was to spend only money on controllers. Using an old coffee table as a cocktail cabinet.

I ended up pruning name to about 250 good games (though I have lists with the rest I really want people to play the better ones) same with other consoles. No point having lists with a 1000 games in it. Snes pruned back to about 80 games. Etc.

I haven't had a lot of time to play around with it yet, it's currently at my mum's place in the little dudes room. I'm thinking I'll buy the Pi and play around with the config at home, get it all running perfectly, then take it down and copy the micro SD card over.

Want to get N64 running on it, and clean up the MAME games first.

Making and selling in theory is great, but it was a massive shit to get right. Having said that, I know a lot more now so wouldn't make the same mistakes twice.

I played around with the N64, but because so many of the games rely on analogue sticks I found it not worth the effort. The best games on the system are just not as fun with digital sticks.

So I ended up with Mame, Sega Naomi games (very good, made Sega Rally and Daytona play well with a joysticks, even Virtua Cop plays amazing using a joystick), Daphe laser disc games, Gameboy Advance, SNES and Genesis.

Had a go with C64 and Amiga, but it really wasn't worth the effort required to setup each game, as I would need to use save states and load those to get the arcade effect I want. Too many silly keyboard or something else required at inopportune times.
