As much as we were lucky and I'd conceded the game until the Video Ref saved us, I'm asking for hands up who wants to give the points to the Doggies in the spirit of fairness.

No hands? Didn't think so! :) We won! BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAH!

When it was disallowed I was as suprised as everyone else, but when I think about it - Have the Dogs really been ripped off?

Say that same thing happens except it's in the 25th minute and it had occurred 10m out from our line....That has been disallowed all year. Once the decoy, dummy runner MAKES CONTACT with a defender, resulting in that defender being impeded in ANY WAY then that has been a No Try all year.

I'm not saying it's the right - but we ask for consistency and we got it in this instance.

Not to mention, by the way, why the f**k was Hornby called back in the first 10 minutes when the Canterbury player dropped it, we picked it up and raced away?

Coops bombed a certain try (thank god the bloke can tackle - Because he sure can't pass.)

All these little things make that decision strangely correct and the Dragons deserve the 2 points.

LOL you dragons supporters are lucky u got that win!!! though they shouldve put the dogs to bed earlier, they showed no urgency tackling Goodwin who offloaded to patten.
Then Soward what was he doing? clearly he was just walking into Eastwood, there was noone between he and patten he could've had a deadset go for him u can see by his momentum he wasnt being held back if he was his legs wouldve been powering towards patten except he was leaning into Eastwood. Oh well u got the win and did deserve it in my mind.
Soward just needs to grow a pair

That was a try to Hornby, proven.

That makes it even, at the best.

Bottom line is Dogs were terrible, we were ok and the best team won.

You guys should of had us beat much earlier, we should of been in the game with 5mins to go. that call at the end was disgraceful and it was a try but we cant do anything now and goodluck to you guys but bloody hell, what a sh!t way to ing ruin a good game. Also as i was leaving the ground nearly all Dragon fans knew they got away with it and knew it was a fair try, but we cant do anything now, the only thing we can hope for is Steve Clark never f'ing refs again

ohhh what a disgusting end to a good game, Clarke is a f'ing dropkick but why are we all surprised these things happen often (but this was possibly the worst ref call ever)

this is a post from RL1908
Soward appeared to have the opportunity to run straight across field and attempt to cut Patten off. Eastwood was at that point off-side, but clearly had no impact on Soward being able to run forward or across field, or even upfield really.

By the time Soward decided to instead head upfield back towards his own goal line, Patten had already gone past Eastwood.

That means Eastwood was on-side, before Soward and he "collided".

I don't think it is possible under the rules for an on-side player in the ball-carrying team to be guilty of obstructing a defender coming from behind him.

Idris didnt make the line for the "try" he scored.
It evened out in the end.
Agreed I was watching the match on tv and listening to the ABC commentary at the same time and the commentators on ABC didn't think his first try was a try so it evened itself out.

That and there's other things in the match that semi-evened out including Cooper's hit on Idris in the first 5 minutes that was after Soward was hit late after he lost the ball near the try line on their first attack, etc.

Overall it was an awesome match to watch regardless of the last decision and how ordinary we played.

Highlight of the night was Dell giving it to the crowd when he caught the ball (before he dropped the ball later on).

Soward is nothing but a good half.
Any player in the 6 or 7 jersey who cant milk a penalty and get away with it isnt worth their salt.

Im not saying its right, or that the refs got it right (which they didnt) but Soward just did his job.

Come on - if a call like that went against us, we wouldn't shut up for the next 10 years, no matter what had transpired earlier in the game. The Dogs fans will be whingeing, and rightly so. That is one of the worst calls I've seen.

what the hell was he thinking of trying to score a try from dummy half on the last tackle. he is noo Mark Riddell

Exactly mate.

And fair dinkum, Soward should be renamed stickyfingers... Young must be trying to get him dropped to shellharbour with those 5th tackle passes
