A club that has fallen on hard times since winning the World Club Challenge so convincingly over a very sharp Panthers side in 2004.

New stadium plans for Bradford

There are plans for a new 15,000-capacity stadium over the road from Odsal, according to League Weekly. It will replace the soon to be demolished Richard Dunn Sports Centre, with hopes the stadium could be ready within two years.

Seen this in local press too. Also Chalmers pleading for council to support development of a new stadium.
Where is the money going to come from to build a new stadium?
It appears that Bradford council has has much money as the RFL which is zero

Why can’t the bulls play at valley parade for the short term?

Regarding Valley Parade. Bradford City currently don’t own it, they rent it from a previous owner and sharing the rent was sited as an expensive option. Certainly what Chalmers intimated. With Park Avenue, the accommodation for spectators is pretty limited at the moment. A small stand then pitch level standing in other areas. It’s another council owned stadium so not sure what their view of expansion is.

Rumour is Park Avenue’s owner may have registered the new companies I mentioned previously and talked about keeping League in Bradford.

Whether it’s all a game of blink or whatever it is, it’s a sad state of affairs and if they stay away too long it will be game over. League needs a team in Bradford.

Not going to pretend I know the game over there, is this good, bad or what? How will this practically affect the Bulls.

They say if it goes through the signing embargo will be lifted. Which is just as well as there are only 13 players contracted at the club(!). RFL still seeking assurances regarding move to Dewsbury and debts owed. No timescale mentioned for the take over.

Is it good for Bradford? Hard to say, but it does seem to lumber from one crisis to another.

We are used to false dawns these days.

Now major backer of take over bid pulls out. There is a fans’ forum tomorrow. Rest of potential take over group say they remain committed. Apparently some financial info not yet been received and rumour is £500k in debt. One more player has left, so now down to squad of 12 and in signing embargo until a take over takes place or guarantee of cash to cover signings comes into sight.

Just another day in the demise of The Bulls.
