Pretty shithouse, Manila, where I live, is going into full lockdown mode. Going to be a shitty few months.

I reckon NZ has a fair chance of not being over-run by the virus - unless there are already thousands infected that aren't known about.

If I can get home next week, might bail and work remotely...Raglan might be alright for some self isolation.

NRL is toast for the season - can't believe the warriors stayed in Oz and plans for the season to go ahead are still being talked about...ain't happening.

Keep safe fellas.

I agree, I can’t believe they are carrying this on either. Especially in the case of the Warriors. We’ll look back and say that was a complete f**king waste of time to keep us over there and going, and only kept players unnecessarily from families.

They should probably postpone it all for a month and see where things head... obviously the TV dollars are critical - while clearly the players want to be, and should be, with their families - I expect they also want to be paid... no easy answer here...

And yeah, NZ is interesting - could well be that there are many people here with it, the seem to be rather stingy with tests... key seems to be slowing spread and ensuring health system isn't overwhelmed.

I’m on A/L at the moment... prebooked 6 months ago... but I just got a call from my boss asking about whether I have the set up at home to work remotely...

that’s nothing out of the ordinary at the moment considering everything that’s going on...

but considering I work frontline for a govt department which will probably end up under the pump by this whole thing...

it’s probably a strong indication about where the govt are thinking we’re heading.

Went to the supermarket at lunchtime for a bit of a stock-up. Seems i wasn't the only one. An easy 15 minute trip around the isles turned into a 1 hour ordeal!

Shit is about to get crazy!

I spent all morning/early afternoon doing the round trip just to get an idea on what was selling out and how quickly.

10 supermarkets overall. Most were fully stocked between 7-9am. After that it was a gradual decline. After 11am you take whatever you can get.

The only thing I wasn't able to find was hand sanitizer, but more than enough ingredients to make my own plus regular soap was available, toilet paper was there, rice, mince, pasta etc

Moral of the story, if you can't get in early yourself, find a friend/family who can.

Just for clarity, I'm in North Brisbane so different areas/countries will vary.

From what I hear Sydney is cleaned out. I’m airborne mid Tasman on my way back from NZ now. Didn’t see many unusual signs in NZ apart from manukau and the airport being rather quiet and my flight being 2/3 empty. Hand sanitiser has been out of stock for a few days though, I assume supply is dried up. I’ve got bog roll, rice and pasta in my luggage and a mate is dropping me fresh groceries tonight.

I went to get frozen veggies and cans of chunky style soups and they were both cleared out. The soups were on special at $2 a can ... Campbells/Coles picked the wrong time to have that special on.

The Warriors are prepared to stay in Australia to ensure they remain part of the NRL, says owner Mark Robinson.

After their loss to the Knights in Newcastle last weekend, they chose not to return to New Zealand to avoid entering the 14-day self-isolation and allow the competition to continue unhindered.

The club said they'd make a decision whether or not to stay in Australia to play the remainder of their schedule following this weekend's match against the Raiders, that was relocated to the Gold Coast.

But according to Robinson, the club is braced to stay long-term.

"Going forward, they are happy to play as long as the competition is running," Robinson told the Sydney Morning Herald.

"The boys are pretty happy to stay. We will do everything we have to do to honour our agreement with the NRL."

The squad are currently based in a resort in Kingscliff, as they get ready to face the Canberra Raiders at a crowdless Cbus Super Stadium - the Gold Coast Titans' home ground - on Saturday.

They're without key backs Patrick Herbert and Peta Hiku, who have both returned to New Zealand on compassionate grounds.

"I think we just do it. It's like going on a six-week rugby league tour to England.

"I was having a yarn with them last night, telling them it could be worse. You could be in Italy stuck in an apartment.

"They are in a resort here, they're training, they're happy.

"They had two go home, one just had a baby and one's expecting one, but the rest of them are happy to stay. It's good for their character."

On Tuesday, CEO Cameron George revealed that the club had compiled a "hit list" of fringe squad members from other NRL clubs to help bolster the squad, which is currently down to just 24 players.

"We kept about six or seven young NSW Cup boys here and (the NRL) said we can put them in our roster," Robinson said.

"We might have about 26 or 27 here, that should get us through for a little while. If anyone gets injured, we can send them straight back.

"The Broncos have given us access to their feeder clubs and a few other clubs said the Warriors can use their players.

"There have been some Queensland clubs that have offered players if some players want to go (home). They will help us out, which I think is fair.

Another thing I noticed is that everyone is so intent on "quick in, quick out" that specialty stores like butchers/independent fresh fruit/vegie grocers seem to last a little longer if you're willing to go to more than one place (At least in Brissy).

yeah I suspect I’d have little trouble getting everything in my area cause there’s lots of grocers, butchers, ethnic delis etc here. But I’m in isolation for 14 days now, luckily I’ve probably got at least 3 weeks worth of provisions here.

One good thing likely to come out of this situation is that Work from Home systems and arrangements will be much enhanced and become much more common I reckon. About time I say...the office is often an unnecessary drag...

Dudes the reason supermarkets etc are facing big queues and selling out of shit is that people are panicking a bit and all rushing at the same time to stockpile. Supply is not the problem, just over the top demand. Good to have some solid supplies at home, but once the mad initial rush is over, more or less normal service will continue. Supply chains to move food and essential goods will be kept operational no matter what, supermarkets will be regularly stocked and medicines too, and enough staff to cater to demand. Banks, telecos, utilities will continue to be open no matter what. People in Rome, Manila, Bangkok etc are not facing troubles accessing food supplies. They have electricity, internet, and can access cash.

The only really scary thing is accessing medical services when the virus contagion is at its peak.
Or when people start turning into zombies.

Good news I guess - presumably with the two week stand down, they can rotate players home as/when they need to... we were always going to be rubbish, so chance to develop some talent - of course Kearney won't do that...

Still be surprised if the NRL don't stop the comp for a month and see how things play out

Yeah- not sure what was planned as far as Internationals go, but cancel Internation window + post season and let the NRL run into mid November

Funnily enough this may be a good thing for the Warriors.
Any coaches offering their services?
Wouldn't it be cool to have Toovey running the team over there lol

I'd be tempted to use Kyle Turner and Lloyd Perrett - always thought the former was solid, we need that, and Perrett is a big body
