I really don't understand why there hasn't been much praise for Sandow in the Media.Even after last night game they just talked about Hayne.
Does he only get in papers when he is playing pokies? Took a bit of gloss of the win last night all the praise and talk about Hayne.I think there where 17 players last night and Sandow was the star

He got MOM and all the media outlets have acknowledged same. Do you want a street parade ?

Not sure how your post relates to thread title, but anyway, was thinking something similar to this last night, but more so how this impacts rep team selections.

The headline was about Hayne and how he was the star.

And sure he had a great game, but also had some poor misses in defence.

Sandow deserved as much praise.

The media tend to focus on certain players, when in reality if you actually watch the game you may come to different conclusion. For example if a team wins in golden point then the headline and plaudits tend to go to the player who kicked the field goal. This is sometimes despite the player having an otherwise ordinary game.

So my question is how much of this impacts rep team selection? Would Daley and Fulton watch all the games in their entirety or do they form their opinions based on media reports?

Or is it a bit of both.

Surely any rep selector is watching all game closely and scrutinise players as closely as possible. But I suspect that media reporting has an influence.

I think he has had 2 MOM awards since his return. The daily telegraph and triple M have produced several stories about his great return to form and comeback after gambling. Do you not have access to newspapers and radio mate?

I think he's been getting too much praise for his form. I don't think he's been particularly good since coming back.

Last night he played very well though. Easily his best game since coming back and his only consistently good performance. I hope it continues.

Nope Daley and Fulton wouldn't watch the games. They would just read the Telegrpah and watch the Foxsports highlights and pick their teams from this.

I was disappointed with Haynes defence but he did have a good reason and Arthur has decided he is worth playing if he is 75% fit.

Sandow did some good things but also did some pretty average stuff which people tend to glaze over. He has raised the bar to be an NRL player I still dont get all the fuss as he still has a long way to go to just be consistently good, I assume everyone still remembers the cowpats game.

He's probably worth half the money we are paying him, I'd be interested to know what Arthur values him at when his contract expires.

I'd be happy to keep him at a reduced contract.

He has lapses, but he has improved his defence out of sight, and he's always been a genuine threat with the ball in hand.

He's been given plenty of praise for last night's performance, he'll start getting more praise when he starts putting in performances like that on a weekly basis. Personally I'd prefer if the media don't go over the top, let him fly under the radar a bit for once. Hayne is always going to attract more the praise because he's a class above and everyone knows what he's capable of after 2009 and if he can get anywhere near that form again it'll be very exciting.

so would I and I was very surprised at his defence last night

he is an instinct player but he still had brain explosions and as I said, he went missing last week

needs some consistency

All they seem to talk about is Hayne. And everyone wants too praise Hoppa where Tonga has completely outplayed him.

Ok I had my rant, but last night Sandow was superb.During press conference it was all about Hayne.Turned me off for a bit.

As far as a street parade goes. Lets leave that for the ..........

Norman seems be getting bagged a lot on social media but he is doing his job, he's no Brett Kenny but he doesn't have to be with Sandow and Hayne in the side.
Norman = Solid.

Corey Norman is an exceptionally good fit for this particular team, both on the field and from what the players say , off it as well.
He is an above average first grader , probably fringe SOO at best , and may have fell through the cracks at Brisbane.
But at Parramatta he has been given the reins of the backline and I believe is thriving on the responsibility.
Very happy with his acquisition and his contribution to the revival.
