Once again bunniesman is all talk but can't answer this question...can you help him?
bunniesman,

Name all the players who have come from another successful club to your club and become a better player?

Here are most of the players who I can remember who have gone from good to down hill dive.

Asotosi...going down hill.
David Peachey... Went down hill.
Rhys Wesser....going down hill and over the hill
David Kidwell.... crashed down hill
M Crocker....down hill
Bryan Fletcher...went down hill.
Inglis....where is he going?....thats right.. down hill
Do you see the pattern now.
Every player who comes to the SOUFFS ends up going down hill....Why?

Luke came from the Dogs.

Sandow from the Titans.

Burgess has hardly "gone down hill".

Your call on Inglis is highly premature, given he was coming back from injury, has been injured again, and is also a notoriously slow starter to the season.

I think the pattern you're talking about is the hangover from being a completely uncompetitive team where it was very hard to attract players ... those that came to Souths did tend to be older and probably over the hill.

I know you're just baiting, chum, but really what is your point? The Dragons' time in the sun will not be eternal.

Sorry I'm not baiting or trolling....This is a serious question....

Yeah Luke came from the dogs... Has he become a better player?

Sandow....has he become a better player or has he realised it's time to move on not just for the extra cash....but to become a better player.

Every team will be successful and every team will go into a slump...including my boys.

Why can't other non souffs supporter come here without every man and his bunny going paranoid?
Face the facts your team is under achieving year in year out ....Why?

I for one, agree with you 100%.

Why?.......... try this for size.

After 40 years of winning nothing, there is an undenyable loser pysche developed at Souths which runs deep through the whole place.Players who come to the club soon get submerged in the mentality that is there and soon take on the attitude " hey, this is only South Sydney, no one really expects us to win any way"

How do you turn this around? that's a very good question, i think it will take a very brave man to take Souths by the scruff of the neck, turn the place upside down and shake it, kicking whatever falls on the floor.

Until this "attitude" problem is overcome at Souths, you will see a lot more players bite the dust and souths will continue on their merry way losing year after year.

Asotasi's best year of his career, in my opinion, was 2007 when he first signed with us. It's been injury that has hampered him.

Well written....Finally someone who is not in denial and has a brain.
Well done mate.....I'm voting you as the new CEO of the Bunnies!!!
:clap::clap::clap:

Good players mean nothing...absolutely nothing if the players and Admin Staff don’t have a GOOD ATTITUDE.
I know this from past experience from my boys.

I'd agree that there is a culture problem too, although I think it's slowly getting better.

As much of a fool as Jason Taylor was in the end, I think he did some good things with the side.

Unfortunately, I think John Lang (through no real fault of his own - I'd blame Richo more for putting him there in the first place actually) has actually taken the team backwards because of his coaching style - which seems primarily to put faith in your players and let them paly their natural game. What the team has needed for a long time is someone to do just what Bundy Rabbit says: give them a good shake. Expect more. Instill some respect for themselves and their teammates. Not accept mediocrity. Hate to lose.

The Eels are no better, but I hope they are on the right path now too. Fingers crossed that Bellamy's apprentices can lead both of my favourite teams to better things.

Edit - That all said, I still disagree that every player magically goes down hill. With the right direction, I think the 2012 playing roster (with a halfback from somewhere) can improve greatly.

I'll pop my head in and ask a very subjective question as well, while we're at it. Why are St.George-Illawarra fans the most obnoxious scum on the face of the earth?

Most of those players were old anyway. Fletcher was very good for us. Roy has been crap. GI still hasn't recovered fr his off season surgery and Crocker is finally earning his pay this season.

Souths have had to pay overs for busted players. It only recently we've been able to get some class players like Burgess, Taylor and GI. We're only just starting to get our act together.

Gee Michael Greenfield has really kicked on since joining the Dragons huh?
Manase Manuokafoa & Shannon Hegarty were the greatest Cowboy signings since Thurston...
Colin Best is in career best form over at the Sharks...
Luke Capewell is on fire at the Titans...
Sam Huihahau was arguably the Raiders best winger since Chicka Ferguson...
Craig Wing is Japans pin-up boy...
George Ndaira & Ben Rogers became crowd favourites at Newcastle...
Jaiman Lowe & Beau Champion are making a MASSIVE difference at the Storm this year...

You see, other clubs are just as guilty of buying dud players who are past their use-by date, however you conveniently wouldn't mention this 2010Dragons.

To be honest, there isn't a single player who we have lost or let go since privatisation that I wish we had of kept..... Alright, maybe Beau.

Ladies & gentlemen.... Here is you answer.....

This lunatic is ready to put crap on everyone else and has the special CRAP attitude that needs to die before your team can be successful again.....
I'm here to have a civil debate about YOUR TEAM...but you are in denial about your team and don't know how your club can be fixed... change your attitude would be a good start.

BAD Attitude :- "I'm the champion in this team attitude" ...Old Dragons
Good Attitude:- "Lets be a champion team".....New Dragons motto.

It may have been off topic but it's a fascinating question worthy of study.

Study NOT required:
Answer:
If the Broncos and supporters had a better attitude...Bennett would NEVER have left and would have come back to his first team HE built.

Im just a mug with red and green eyes, but i'm also a realist and i'll call it as i see it.

Why do you think Bennett gave us a wide berth? Maybe he was not a brave enough man to right the ship?

The very first thing that needs to be done is to put the pride back in our jersey. Anyone who wears that jersey should be made to realise they are in illustious company and should be humbled by it.

Any player who does not give his all for that jersey should be told " sorry but you're not welcome here " doesn't matter what their name is or where they come from, if they don't respect the South Sydney jersey then send em off to play park football.

Simple RESPECT and ATTITUDE is sadly missing from our club and has been for a long time. With each passing year it is going to get worse.Nothing comes for free in this life, you have to work at it through pain and sacrifice but it appears to me that too many see our club as some sort of "free ride"

Come on 2010Dragons, the majority of players you mentioned at the start of this thread already had successful careers elsewhere & were on the downhill slide when they joined us for their retirement fund. Peachey,Wesser, Kidwell, Fletcher & Crocker were all just about 30 or older when they joined us. All were past their best, but I believe were brought to the club mainly to pass on their knowledge & experience to the younger guys.

I think aspects of a team like passion, commitment, pride are evident in a team's defence. Honestly, apart from JT's first year, whenever the opposition starts to throw the ball around, I start to get nervous. The team needs some mongrel in it. Don't take a backwards step, instead of putting up the white flag. Not the cheap stuff. In following the Souths teams in the 80s, they weren't the most talented, but they gave everything they had. That we have one of the worst defensive records this year speaks volumes.
