The Bulls have received an undisclosed fee for the 20-year-old, who will join his international team-mate Gareth Ellis in the NRL

Bradford and England forward Sam Burgess has confirmed his switch to Australia's NRL after signing a four-year deal with South Sydney Rabbitohs.

100% we were after him, now its likely we will chase harder after other signings....hopefully more news on that front shortly.

Dam what a waste of talent , can anyone name a high profile player that has gone to soufs and acheived anything ? Good luck to them i guess at least they can attract the good players which is more than we can do. We should be happy tho because Shines said we are improving but the trouble is that every other club looks to be improving as well and at a far greater rate. Go the worsttigers .

............is understood to have been swayed by a face-to-face meeting with actor Russell Crowe, who has a controlling interest in the Rabbitohs.

You have to be kidding. Maybe the tigers need a world famous Fu#@witt as head of recruitment instead of the standard Fu#@witt we currently have.

The other person i could almost call a Fu#@witt is nomarg for the misleading title and the 10sec of Joy that rushed through me after first reading..........however the fact u posted it about 5mins after it cam online was s good effort. Thanks for your post.

Can't help but fell the Souths pricks totally cut our grass on this one. Burgess linked strongly with us and Manly. Souths get wind of it and suddenly Crowe meets with Burgess and that's all she wrote.

Don't get me wrong, you can't blame them, but it still makes me hate them even more.

The undisclosed fee may have been the sweetener for the club thats for sure, i highly doubt the morons at the club would want to pay a fee to sign him..
Im just curious on how the hell souths will make it under the books i mean how much was wing or faalongo really on?

Asotasi = 400k
Burgess = Min 300k
Taylor = 300k easily
Ross = 50k but incentive based which could rise up to 300k
Crocker = 250k if all incentives are reached?

yet we cant sign nobody!

Where are your figures from? I recall reading that Taylor was on a 3 year / $750k offer.

As for how they're under the cap, you only need to look at the utter garbage they have in the backs to understand that.

I remember when they sign asotasi he was the high paid forward at the time he signed with souths. Now if he took a pay cut when he resigned the fair enough. With Crocker and Ross i got the figures from someone in my area involved with the club.

Yeah they do have rubbish in the backs, which will hurt them next year but still cant be playing for peanuts..

As long as they dont make the 8 next year ill be happy, living in the south sydney area i dont need to hear all these silly fans talking about how they will win the premiership after the first 2 games..

If we DON'T make the 8 it will be a complete and utter failure.

Probably the best forward pack on paper in the NRL now, and the backline isn't as bad as people are saying...

how is that one of the strongest backs in the league it doesnt beat dragons/dogs/storm/Eels/broncos it might be better than a few of the bottoms teams but theres no stars in that backline

hahaha, one of the strongest backlines. It's crap, pure and simple. At best you can hope for a Bulldogs type season - boring, one out football, make the finals but not enough class to win the big games.

They have a very good backline, as this years trys scored stats show......Sutton on his day is one of the best players running around.
With the pack theyre assembling they look very good on paper....some Tigers fans are just blinded by bias
