Burt is one of the most consistent players in the league and peterson is a great winger.

Burt & Petersen seem to be specialist 'left' sided players. I can't recall seeing either of them play well on the right side of the field. Earlier in the year Petersen was used at right wing/centre and he really struggled. Same goes for Burt, he was having absolute shockers earlier in the year at right centre. Move them over to the left side of the field and "Walla" they are 10x better players #-o

They obviously feel more comfortable playing over on the left side of the field and hopefully Smith has taken note of this.

Maybe next year...

1. McKinnon
2. Grothe
3. Tahu
4. Burt
5. Petersen

Yeah, some players doe just play better on one side of the fied then the other., hopefully Grothe can adapt to the right side.

Petersen still should NOT be a winger next yr.....he's a good backup but nothing else:

i'd go

1. McKinnon
2. Grothe
3. Tahu
4. Smith
5. Burt

Phillips - don't know what your on, but it must be affecting your judgement, there may have been a time when Peterson was a backup, but he has the goods now i reckon and deserves his starting spot

Donald was the last "backup" winger that went on to produce bigger and better elsewhere. Sideshow has my vote if he keeps playing how he is and if someone does take his spot hopefully its because of their much better form rather than Sideshow's lack of......

I said it earlier in this thread - sideshow is a guy I want to see to do well because he always wears his heart on his sleeve.

He has had a few mistaskes in him, but has cut those down a lot the last 4-6 weeks. He also copped bagging that I thought was unfair for the number of tries that went in down his side, but that was often because he had been left stranded by his centre.

I don't think Grothe on the right would work.

Think about it - what's Eric's best weapon? His massive fend.

It works best on the left, because he has a great right-handed fend. Move him to the right and he has to twist and contort his body slightly to fend with his right, and I don't think he'd be as effective.

We've always had a prob with our RHS centre/wing combo since 2002.

The centre there always seems to get no quality ball even when Jamie was there. One reason I think is because Widders is always camped out there and always gets the ball when it goes out that side.

I reckon Langi doesn't get much opportunity out there because of Widders.

That's why it's ok to throw Wagon there coz he doesn't need to attack coz Widders and Ash can do the attacking there.

has the RHS problem had anything to do with our halves being right-handed and poor at passing from left to right?

I haven't really paid too much attention, but that's also a possible cause.

I remember hearing Gould or someone saying that if the opposition half back is right handed, then you play your better defenders on the RHS, because more of their attack will come down their LHS attack

Dykes is Left Handed I think. But then he crabs instead of passing it.

I remember reading that Jamie prefers left centre too but Lex was only effective as a left centre (probably same reason as Grothe re. fend) and so Jamie played right centre. But i guess these two are irrelevant now.
