Does it matter??
Whatever the bloke has signed for it is a bargain.....
IMO he does and hasn't done as much for the club as Cayless (not a crack at Burty, I agree he is worth every cent) yet Cayless is apparently an overpaid hack. So every player no matter who has an upper limitHe's worth every cent of whatever it is he is paid, great clubman and great player.

here we go again![]()
context and reality wow never thought it was possible here
the fact that you've spent more time making a fuss about people's reactions about this thread goes to show that this has rattled you like a petulent child, get over yourself.
now about that "best ever" comment....
wouldn't it be great if he finally got that country jerseey..Jessie poo weave your magic!
Even more reasons to love Burty. Didn't Burt take a pay cut off his last contract as well?

 are you serious? 84baby's post assures me that as great a clubman burt is, there are other posters here capable of recognising his limitations and don't resort to brushing off a legitimate question when one questions burt's value.
the salary cap is a reality and with it goes difficult decisions about players at the backend of their careers. that's the facts of life today in the nrl. if burt resigned for 200-250k then i would be saying that is a bollocks deal and we should resign inu for similar coin,
i'm prepared to go with the popular notion here that is a fair way sub that amount and have merely asked if anyone has anything substantive. god forbid that this is a forum and that you blokes rattle off about other not as popular players contracts on a whim.
funny you use the term petulant child, i agree there is petulance in this thread, but it ain't from me
I've never called Cayless an overpaid hack 84, so your comment is moot with me. If I was asked the same question of Cayless I'd have given the same answer. So your point is?
the only problem with that is I actually think Burt is in a renaissance and in career best form. are you serious? 84baby's post assures me that as great a clubman burt is, there are other posters here capable of recognising his limitations and don't resort to brushing off a legitimate question when one questions burt's value.

Sorry I wasn't having a go at you, just there are others who believe Cayless should be booted. I haven't matched this thread to the Slothfield Plan one so I don't know if there are some saying one thing for Burt, another for Caylo, so it may have been an unfounded point on my part. If the NRL came out and said every team has to sign all their players up to new contracts, Hindy, Caylo and Burty would 123 on my list. They've put in so much to the club, they fully deserve whatever the club can give them and more.
In previous threads there are people who believe the club should let Cayless go as he isn't playing up to his salary, in this regard it would be a booting. In fact, just going off last week's game, not offering him a contract would be a booting regardless of the reasons you can come up with. He showed that his heart is fully in the club for this season last Friday and unless he says he's retiring or moving elsewhere the club should offer him a contract for the same reasons they offered Burt a contract. My original post was a crack at anyone who congratulated Burt on being a great clubman, but also doesn't want the club to re-sign CaylessI'm not sure whether I agree with the choice of words, would not offering a contract be regarded as booted??

!! :lol:I would give the the captaincy to Luke Burt if Cayless retires at the end of the season.
