Burt re-signs with Eels

I am not an Eels fan but I actually have Burt as an origin contender on the wing this year. He was great last year and last Friday (apart from maybe Cayless) was easily the Eels best.
His great play gets overshadowed by the commentators going on and on and on and on about the Hayne Train.
Take the try Burt scored last Friday. Was a great catch to score. Terrible pass by Hayne. I think one commentator commented on the great catch but three of them talked about the 'great' pass (ignoring the fact it was 1m behind Burt).
Anyway, just my 2 cents on Burt. Good on him!!!

I thought he was very good as a young bloke, went off him in his early twenties, but have been in awe of his play - last season in particular.

Burty will be the sort of player who, when he does hang up his boots, many people will realise what it was he brought to the team...... a clubman in the same mould as Sharp and Laurie.

I applaud this signing. So often the unsung hero, a true club player who continues to impress with age. So often Hindy's name is the one brought up deserving of a premiership, but I include Burt along with him. Heres hoping the loyalty shown by the club and Burt will reward both with a premiership. Hindy may be the greatest Eel of the modern era but Burty has to be my favourite!

Great clubman and a real team player who always gets the job done!

He lost it a little between 04 and 06 where he wasn't as strong (i really think that hit in 03 shook him up for quite some time) but 07 till now he has been one of our most consistent and best players!

Why do they say life? He still has potentially 6 years left in him......i hope he can be here and playing this well in 6 years!

I'm another convert. Quite happy to say I got it wrong.
3 years ago I was calling for his sacking.
Since then, he has become a complete winger, to the point where I am actually disappointed if he isn't in the team.
