Another quiet night for Luke. Doesn't seem to want the ball in our own end. Doesn't see the ball come to him in their end. Doesn't go looking for it any where and our kicking game hasn't been good enough to give him opportunities in the corners.

1 run. 7 metres.
1 kick return. 7 metres.
4 tackles.
3 missed tackles.
1 innefective tackle. (innefective tackle = oxymoron?)

C'mon, Burty. It looks like we may need to make another late run at it and we need you firing. Get the ball in your hands more. Create some spark.

You helped carry us last year. It's time to step up again, champion.

Burty is not getting the ball as it doesn't seem to be getting that wide on his side, Inu had a lot of ball due to the fact that was the side the broncos kicked to most of the night.

Burty has always played well when we are going well, when we struggle he doesn't seem to make an impression. It's not his fault but.

Maybe it doesn't translate on TV, but at the ground you see Burt come infield looking for the ball or scouting for opportunities backing up the attack loads of the time... And he makes great defensive reads.

Compared with Inu, then Burt's involvement seems staggering imo.

errrr

5 runs combined in 2 weeks simply is not having a go. Look, I don't know if he's carrying an injury and playing out of necessity (as evidenced by his goal kicking falling short).. or what. But 2 weeks straight the bloke has not put in in a game.

Our main problem is our halves, our lack of direction and our terrible kicking game. But on the plus side for Mortz at least he's having a dig.

When the heart of a team gets ripped apart the heart of the players get torn apart too. The passion of this 2009/2010 squad has been put on the rotisserie for too long now. The passion has been slowly bbq since the later stages of the 2010 pre-season. Luke is not a happy boy, neither is Hayne and neither are many other players. Without the spirit to bind the players as a cohesive unit, this Eels squad will not make the 8. DA, PO & others (including the after-effects provided by M Hagan) have stuffed this team-spirit up BIG-TIME. It's not too late, but its going to take a lot of bond-building over the next month WITH Cooper Cronk & co on board.
