I wasn't necessarily trying to answer the question... I just had some time, so just did the 'projection' on nrl.com.

I just don't want us to lose early in the finals, as I think this will spook us...

By the way, Raiders are in the top 4, displacing Bulldogs...

Didn't really mean you I meant Cardys reponce.

Best scenario would be to finish 2nd & play Cowboys in week 1 & win (if they finish 3rd).

Then we would probably have to play dogs or raiders to make the GF in week 3.

If we finish first, dogs or raiders week 1 & then probably Cowboys week 3 for GF qualifier.

Anyway, whatever happens, happens.

Win week 1 & get a rest & let the rest sort itself out. We are better than ALL of those below us, providing we play in Sydney.

Let me rephrase, How possible is a scenario where we don't play either Storm or Cows until the Biggie? Which would mean that Storm have to play Cows twice?? It seems unlikely though, I would rather play the Cows in first week but if we lose we will have to play the Storm to make it.

Talk like this can only bring great fodder for later in season. One game at a time suits me just fine

To avoid the Storm & Cowboys. Storm would have to beat Cowboys week 1 & Cowboys lose at home in week 2.

Unlikely.

So I wrote that we win the next 5 & we MAY lose the 6th against arguably the (other) best team in the comp on their turf.

I'm being realistic - didn't say I want to lose.

Having said that, if we drop a couple of games, so what. It's not going to make much difference - we will still be top 2 & that's where we wanna be. After that, it's a whole new ball game & I'm sure we will be ready to go against whoever.

If anything it's a pressure valve release. I'd prefer to lose to Neil Henry and not Ricky Stuart.

I think the Broncos are a chance of dropping out of the 8. The drags as poor as they have been are a good chance to knock of the current bronco rabble.

And the cows might be in 5th after this weekend. Tigers going good and the dogs will certainly beat the Knights.

The win by Storm over Cowboys helps us greatly.

Basically now just us and Storm can rest players going forward.

Bulldogs/Raiders/Cowboys - all fighting for top 4 will see risk in resting anyone so may play injured players.

Those for 6-8 will have to play basically any player close enough to being fit.

We have been through this before and it come backs to bite come finals, 1-2 regular season no difference, lets make sure we have all players close enough to 100% come finals, if they need rest, give them a week off our best chance ever

Anyone watching the Goons vs the Donks?
They just showed the away dressing room at the Gong Stadium, they would have to be the worst facilities in the league
