Calling all true SHARKS supporters

To Thomo and the rest who like to dump the "true" sharks fan lable on yourselves.

I was sitting on wooden benches at Sutherland Oval watching the Sharks before most of your parents even knew each other. So were a hell of a lot of other people on this forum.

I was pouring my dollars into the club so it could survive before your parents considered bringing you into this world.

I was present at the grand finals we lost and at the club afterwards. I KNOW what it feels like, you only think you do.

So, for FFS don't tell me or the many other people on here that we are not "True" Sharks fans just because we like to discuss the game, the way players played and what we believe are the issues surrounding all that.

Nulla #2, Thomo, Spuddies and all, feel free to use the computers that were probably supplied through the hard work of your parents to contribute here but don't even hope to imagine what I have achieved "in real life" and don't for one minute think that your short existence has even given you a taste of what it is like to be a long time Sharks fan.

Thank you and fugg off!

Actually this Compaq is proudly sponsored by my workplace.

But hey i hear what your saying mako, and i dont disagree with the fact talkign footy is a wonderful invention, i just feel, talking some of the tactics that get talked on here arent going to get professional footballers over the line.

Also, of course you are a true supporter, sitting at sutho and the rest of your achievements, you have been around a long time, good to see, maybe being just a young fella, i may not understand just what true "support" really is.

I'll certainly learn one day...

It wont be on here though.

There are also people on this forum that i have no doubt know what they are talking about. 100% respect to them.

And i have not once, nailed you with the term not a true supporter "mako".

Arrhhhhhhhhhhh

Back in my day !

I believe you mako about sitting at Sutho Oval, don't get me wrong, but geez I've heard that a few times, a bit like woodstock....there must have been some f**king huge crowds at Sutho oval, cause every sharks fan over 50 years old reckons they were there "building " the club, cutting the oranges, selling the raffle tickets and rubbing the blokes down after their match ! how many didn sutho hold for f**ks sake ???

Mate, whenever anyone posts something that is aimed at those who are doing other than post "we were great, shame we lost" or "yes we played a little poorly but the Sharkies will prevail" and then adds that those people need to get a life and achieve something outside of posting here then you are aiming up at anyone that posts a negative about the team, coach or anything Sharks.

So while neither you or Thomo "nailed" anyone by name you certainly aimed up at a lot of people. And you aimed up at people from both sides of all arguments - not just the Simmo or Goldy or Bird supporters.

Being proud of the team you support and finding positives is great, go for it, but don't hit out at those that like to analyze the game and the individual parts of it.

Next time on beer hill I will buy ya a beer but don't make me have to go via the hot dog stand!

Fair call Mako, but equally, the people who DO post very positive comments and don't feel the need to be critical because they'll follow the club to the end of the earth regardless, should be allowed to hold that stance and post as such, without being labelled fluffy wuffys, or someother schoolyard term, shouldn't they ?

Well the first time I went there Dot there was not a huge crowd thats for sure lol. In fact I would not have even know that the game was on except a mate told me and suggested we go take a look at this new team.

They got me in and I have supported them ever since.

I do believe the term fluffy, ( which I adore by the way) was coined in a thread such as this.
No chicken or egg debate there.

I know reefy, I guess I'd just like to just see more playing of the ball, not the man from all sides, extremely fluffy view that is and all :)

Mako I bet it was shy of a few fans the first few games eh ? would have been awesome, ive got some pics of it my old man took somewhere, must find em and try to scan them. That's why I laughed at your post, could have been written by my old man and his mates, sucking on KB golds sitting on the back of their kingswoods yelling obcenities !

Naturally. Unfortunately they want to wade in to the debates, get personal, lable people and not offer anything to support their argument other than the assertion that because they are the Sharks people should not be looking at the negatives.

True mate, and it's annoying, see my point about playing the man not the ball. But your point here can be equally applied to the "realists" as they like to be called.

Well I was too young to be sucking on KB, but I remember the reverse hill that the cars parked on lol

Also the scoreboard looked like a shack supported on water pipes and the seat were planks with splinters the size of timber tent pegs - ahhhhh the good old days.

Dot, I bet if you go through the posts for the last 12 months you will see thread after thread started on an issue where a "fluffy" has entered the debate and offered nothing except to fluffy it up and then hit out at those that want to discuss.

Also, check out the threads started as pure antagonism. Have a look at the Sigs.

And I am not including the likes of Pogo and DS in this. Pogo have a point of view and he is a realist. His reality just differs from a lot of other lol. Thats fine! DS is just in a world of his own lol

Why these people can not just let those of us who want to discuss get on with it and not enter the thing if they don't like it is beyond me.

Forums are about discussion and debate, never were and never have been a love in.

Was better than that! You could move around the ground with the play

LOL! infact, that's one of the best things about a trip to erriccson, they've clamped down a bit now, but a few years ago you could walk around the athletics track on the far side and pretty much go where the play was ! excellent !
