The club are trying hard with the Parramaniacs.... ;-) but the big problem I find is that a lot of people responded originally and then came to a few games and we lost. They haven't been back. Than of the fifty people we find - around 20 want to get involved but don't make a lot of difference. We then don't see them the next week. I go home with no voice from trying to get people involved but one can only do so much - mind you I sound like three people! There were a few that really got involved on Sunday and it was better - the very first week was probably our best effort. Big changes ahead for next year though..... or at least we can only hope.
Yes Colonel, I have been thinking about the parramaniacs during this whole conversation.
It is great to see the club pushing this avenue, but I'm not sure how much it has been promoted. Have they made announcements at the ground for people to join, or is it only by word of mouth?
Yes, I can understand that they wouldn't want a flood of people wanting free tickets if it was too widely advertised, but there is no point starting this sort of thing if they don't want to initially absorb some losses.
They must think of the wider benefits, and if a whole end Bay was to be a freeby, and everyone HAD to wear gold t-shirts and wigs, and they could fill, imagine the flow on advantages of that.
I just don't think Parra are prepared to go to that extreme. Our marketing people haven't the courage nor our finance people the wallets to open up a free Bay.
I've always thought that Having a "Dollar a Flag - Day" would be great, but it would cost Parra to run it. I don't think they are prepared to take those sorts of risks.........but then maybe somebody in the know can prove me wrong.
Marketing is about gambling.
