I don't think Broncos will be as hurt come SOO time this year. Last year IIRC, they didn't go too bad around SOO time. Norman and Hunt will be the halves no doubt with Wallace probably getting the #7 jersey for NSW, or if he doesn't, even better for the Broncos.

The likes of Lui, Gibb, Frei, Anderson, Baptiste - will all step up to first grade in the forward pack, Beale to centres and Gagai in from NYC to the wing. It's still a strong team on paper, it'll just be whether they can put it together out on the field.

We (besides Fourex and broncos2010) aren't the ones talking up the Broncos as premiership winners, its everyone else. We are more than happy sitting back and watching our boys putting in good performances week after week.

At the risk of trying to be serious in a thread that has degenerated, this is possibly true. And how unfair is that?

I know there are plenty of things that go Brisbane's way, and another team in Brisbane might help with some of that, but it is crazy that year after year the Broncos win most of their matches except at a time when they are missing most their team (and the baby Broncos often do well also, but that is still unfair). Lets see if the stand alone weekend seems to work, and maybe Origin can be scheduled next year to be a bit fairer on teams like the Broncos.
