Can Collingwood win without Rocca?

I'm not an expert on AFL but I would have to say if, WHEN Rocca is suspended the Lions chances increase dramatically for their 3rd successive premiership.

As said I'm not an expert, but what are all your thoughts?

Even with Rocca the pies would have lost big time.

The lions havent won two premierships straight for nothing you know!

The game still has to be played and a Collingwood win would be far from the biggest upset I've seen in almost three decades of watching the game.

I'll be tipping the Lions, but I still think the Magpies have a big show. Rocca will unsettle the Magpie line-up, not so much for his ability (which is questionable), but because he could leave them a big man short. I suspect they'll throw Molloy into the mix, but the D9 is an ordinary footballer at the best of times, and unlike Rocca he cannot play in the ruck if need be.

In short, yes the Magpies can definitely win without Rocca. Their prospects will increase further if Lappin can't take to the paddock and if the MCG is cold and windy this Saturday.

The AFL were spot on in putting him out.

It may be every players dream to play in a GF, but it is also every players understanding that if they transgress the rules during a game that there will be consequences. It was a stupid act by Rocca and he was lucky not to have caused reckless injury to his opponent going with an elbow like that. If you start giving players get out of jail free cards in PFs you set a very dangerous precedent that will surely be abused in future years. And where does it all end? Do you start giving them carte blanche on offences a fortnight out from the GF, at the end of the H&A games?
